As a fan of anime I have listened to a lot of j-pop, j-rock and I think it would be very fun to play some RB Japanese tracks especially on vocals. I would love to play Rewrite from Asian Kung Fu Generation. That would rock indeed. Or some Orange Range or etc.... If they dont' bring it out here at least as DLC would be good enough for me :)

If it has Coffins and Boris, then maybe.

No region locking on PS3 games, so yeah... if it doesn't come out here, we can just import it.
360 users, however, will have some issues.

This would make for some interested DLC, especially on vocals, heh.

If it don't come out here, I'm importing. Unless of course we get all of the songs as DLC...then I'll just DL it all.

Apparently region-locking is decided by the publisher on a per game basis for the 360. So best case, I would like them to just release any new charted Japanese songs as DLC for normal Rock Band. Barring that I might look into importing it if the track selection is different enough and they don't region lock it.

I am well aware of that, but if the 360 versions of Rock Band already out are region-locked, I don't see the Japanese version being unlocked, especially with how touchy Japanese music labels are about licensing.

I voted undecided. I probably wouldn't buy the game if it was released unaltered, but I'd like to have Japanese DLC available if they could romanize the vocals for the English audience. (so, ko-ni-chi-wa or whatever instead of the actual characters)

If you've ever seen Japanese karaoke games, most have at least the option to display characters in roomaji.

Yes, hands down. I would love to be able to play songs from Dir en grey, Maximum The Hormone, and Miyavi. If they had a complete expansion like...J-RockBand or something, I'd be playing that instead of the original. At least make a Japan DLC pack. They did release songs that are in German and French, so why not Japanese? But yeah, it would have to be in romaji in order for anyone to read it, though of course for one not very fluent in Japanese at all..they'd be mispronouncing some words.

I just read the news today about the future release in Japan and I'm thrilled. As long as the instruments will work in the Japanese 360, all I need to do is pick up the game when it's released.

If there are no talky parts, you could approximate... granted, that would mean you'd be on your own for anything Maximum The Hormone did, hehe.
