What's it take to be the Ignorant Sluts' front man?
Not Much! :p
The Cherub Rock Video wasn't all we got, I guess IGN kind of saved themselves today, not too much detail about vox, but its pretty good.

"For those wanting to kick it on the mic, songs tend to be split into two types. First, there are those that have a lot of lyrics that come incredibly fast, but may not have many notes that need to be held. OK Go's "Here It Goes Again" and the Chili Peppers' "Dani California" are good examples of this. The second common type are songs that aren't intense in terms of quick lyrics, but require you to hold notes and have a fair range. Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" and Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" fit this mold. The most difficult (and best) songs blend the two."

"singers collect energy when they hit glowing notes and store them. When you have enough energy, an orange glow appears when your Overdrive meter is full. To activate, sing or speak when there are no lyrics. Not only do you earn a boost to your score, you can sing or say whatever you want during any of the lyrical breaks."
Thats cool, I didn't know you had to fill up any energy to do overdrive, but that makes sense.

"We've now covered three of the four pieces that make up Rock Band. Check back next week when we look at what it takes to be a drummer."

So drums next week, what will be Thursday and Friday then?

Or you can shout the same phrase Ignorant Sluts lead singer Hil shouts at each show: "WOOOO!"

Fix'd.

Why does it say "screenshots" on that one image?

I think that is the characters name, because the other side just says Player 2.
That image is cool, its vocal head to head!

Does that mean that there will be no more updates for this week?

By no means do you have to be a good singer to be successful at Rock Band,

He himself is a great example of this.

Yeah I love how you can see that the vocalists are kind of playing around with each other on stage in those screens. I wonder how drummers will get inside the heads of their competition...

It probably means we'll be seeing stuff that's not "this is how we rock the drums". Most likely we'll be seeing in depth look at the band world tour (which will be old news when they announce it) and probably something else like a new song or DLC or something.

I thought it was good that they mentioned the fact that singers are going to get killed on tougher difficulties if you don't know the song. I wondered how that was going to work. I think this is going to hurt singing for the casual guest player on a lot of the songs.

I'll tell you what it takes... A rake shoved up your ass and battery acid in your eyes.

Certainly underwhelmed w/ new info, but good to know more about the mic at least. I can't wait to see the crowd interaction stuff firsthand...

I actually am quite satisfied with this. Quite indeed. I loved the new screens.

It's been a very filling day. Achievements, a new song screen at GameSpot, some detailed Rock Band World Tour info, this, it's been a very fulfilling day. Hell even the crappy Cherub Rock video deserves a mention. Nobody can ***** after today.

Agreed. You promise your subscribers a "Rockband Week" then quit on Wednesday? After writing three stories? Heres a term IGN should learn, journalistic integrity. I am glad however to know that the new three day week is in effect.

I don't think they meant that there would be no news tomorrow or Friday. I think they were just saying they will finish their coverage of instruments with the drums next week. Something else will be talked about over the next two days, hopefully it is something useful and not more of the same that it has been.

I think this video brings up something I've been dying to know.

When you have overdrive on the drums, and you get a free-form fill, do you get more points by going ass-crazy?

It seems like every video I see the people just absolutely reef singles during the fills--are you going to get penalized if you choose to do something tasteful instead?

You get the same amount of points no matter how little or how much you play, as long as you play you'll get those points for the fill.
