Okay Okay moral dillema here. I filled out a request for my guitar return and did the express shipment waited a week and the tracking number said it still hadn't left yet.
I called and they had actually sent it to themselves instead of sending it to me, Okay they remove thehold on my card and do a new rma request. In the process something got screwy cause today when i got home I have two new guitars waiting on my doorstep. They both have the same exact rma numbers and same exact tracking numbers with ups, but when I check the ups site it only shows up as one box delivered when there is two and the support.ea.com site only shows one being delivered. and there is only one hold on my card now waiting on one return.
Do I be honest like I always am and call and let them know, or do I keep the guitar knowing that they screwed up?:eek::confused::confused:

I know this is gonna seem bad...but i'd keep it. SIMPLY BECAUSE!!! The RMA fiasco that is occuring...one might break you know.
Edit:
Also, just for the record...i got an extra random bass pedal when i express RMA'd my drum set recently, and i kept it because 1. This was my last RMA because of the new 60 day standard (talked to a supervisor on the phone to get it). 2. The kit came not even in a smaller box inside of the normal big box like it should; instead it was just 'floating' inside the box with nothing holding it down. It also had the tops of the pads beat up and dented, and was without the removable end of the plug for the usb connector (on the xbox 360).
So basically i kept the extra bass pedal because the whole job was shoddy work by the EA replacement team once again (did i mention i express rma'd it and got it 2 weeks later?).
Good thing i kept it too, because the poor S.O.B who would have gotten this pedal would have had it break 4 hours into playing with it as it broke 4 hours into me playing with it (and i barely hit the bass pedal to, saves energy).
Another A+ for EA.

Here's one for ya medal. I went online and filled out the request for the express rma and it sent me the confirmation email stating the 60 day blah blah and show proof of receipt blah blah and then like 10 minutes later got another email stating that they had verified my receipt and gave me the tracking number. Then when I had to call back to inquire about it and had to set up a new rma the same thing happened. I purchased mine back in january and was way out of the 60 day period and don't even know where my receipt was and I still got it.

It is not your mistake. They should pay attention to what they are doing you are in no moral sense obligated to hold their hand so that they do not screw up repair shipments.
One day i went into Staples to buy a new wireless Router. I found the one I wanted it was on sale for like $100. I took it to the cash register and pulled $150 out of my wallet. The guy scans the router and the price comes up as $4 and change.
If they were taking what they were doing seriously it would never have happened same thing in your case. These companys pay people to do their jobs.......you nor I are one of them. Don't do someone elses job for them. Now if they contact you and say can we have it back thats another story. Hope this helped, it really bothers me when so-called professionals are incompetent.

I can only hope to get that lucky if i end up having to try to RMA my drums for the 8th time now. And before somebody comments, i barely touch the pads when i play after I hit my 5th set. I've been honestly AFRAID to break my drums for the past 2 sets. Before those 2 i had been getting them out of the box dropping notes or having cracked pads. The 5th set i had ended up having the yellow pad get cracked after maybe a month and a half, so when i got my 6th set i made SURE not to hit the pads hard. I've taken video and had my friends watch and they agree i lightly tap the pads (which took SO much practice to master barely hitting the pads...a lot harder than it sounds when you try to do RTTH on expert ) and its not like i hit it hard before but still...Anyways somehow my 6th set had the yellow start to drop notes after about a month of having it and now im on my 7th (and hopefully final) set...

keep it,considering the failure or breaking rate of these instruments, its good to have a backup one just in case, plus i guarantee you're going to need it.

Its what I am thinking considering, really how are they really going know that I have it cause ups says they delivered one box, all the packing slips, and lists inside the box and out all say the exact same thing.

Even EA would probably tell you to keep it. The hassle of returning it under these circumstances is probably not something their system is designed to handle, so it would probably cause way more work for them to figure it out than the guitar is worth.

Okay Okay couldn't live with myself for keeping it so I called support.ea and told them the situatioin and they looked it up and told me to keep it b/c they only showed one hold on my card, and one guitar being shipped and only one rma number, he said congrats for getting a two new guitars.

doesn't it feel much better knowing you at least tried? Glad that they didn't make you return it.

well, it's good that you tried. the world needs more honest people. logistically though, like has been said before, taking the guitar back would be more trouble for EA than the controller is worth. the system is screwed up beyond belief, and in this particular instance it worked in your favor.

Yeah, but just keep an eye on your cc statement. I was told the same thing in a similar siutation, and 2 months later I was charged. Since I decided to keep the extra guitar, I don't feel that I was cheated..I could have sent the extra back, but now I just view it as an extra 'just in case'.
