Both the yellow pad on my drum set and the whammy bar on my guitar are broken. I already replaced the guitar once through EA but the second one came with a whammy bar that clicks when pushed all the way down. My warranty has expired, but luckily, I purchased the product replacement plan at Best Buy which is good through November 2009.

I was wondering if anyone has done this. I am going to go there today and get a new box. I was just wondering if I would face any troubles from the people who work there. Anyone do this?

(I know Best Buy is notorious for bad customer services but I have no choice other than to pay more. I already paid $29.99 USD for the replacement plan.)

I believe there are other threads about this already, but yeah.

I took mine into Best Buy the other day after my bass pedal snapped right at the bass. Packed everything up in the original box and took it to the customer service.

The dude asked me why I was returning it and when I told him about the pedal snapping, said that it didn't fall under the warranty, which I quickly followed up with "It falls under normal wear and tear".

Other than that, it was no problem. I went and grabbed another Rock Band SE box and brought it home.

What sucks is that me and my wife played Expert Endless Setlist last night and my yellow pad is very quickly becoming unresponsive. Oh well, back to Best Buy we go.

Oh yeah, make sure you take your Warranty booklet with the receipt. I think you need to have that for your warranty to be fulfilled.

I have replaced 4 bass pedals, 3 guitars, 1 set of drum's and the disk. Only one time did I encounter any type of issue. The lady at customer service said something to the effect that she had seen me in there many times exchanging things. I commented back that that was the reason I bought the PRP and know that most of the times they are just pure profit for the company anyway (I spent 5 years working for them) so just give me my new pedal. The normal CSR came over and sent the lady off and was more then happy to help, lol. I also see the same loss prevention guy when I go in, he always laughs when he is tagging the broken item.

On a somewhat related note, I only take in the broken piece (the nasty lady also commented about that, lol) I get a new box before I goto customer service and I even offer to get the item out of the box for the CSR. I see no sense in bringing in items that are currently working on the likely chance that what I get out of the box will be rubbish.
