Some quotes:
"The game is available on November 20th, 2007," John wanted us to know, right off the bat, "and the game will come with a special band bundle for the holidays, which is the drum set, one guitar, the microphone, and the disc. And that bundle costs $169.99. And we're also releasing the disc, so if you have a GHII controller and you want to play guitar and start that way until other things come out, or just use the USB mic and do just the singing for a while, you can also do that." The control system is completely open.


John did say, however, that it doesn't mean that every controller will work for every system, but "if it upscales to your system, it should work with our game. It's an open controller. We want people to play whatever guitar they want. As for specific guitars that aren't from Harmonix, you'll have to ask that hardware developer specifically, but we think all controllers should work. So, if they work with XBox, they should work with us. If they work with PS3, they should work with us."

Nothing really earth shattering, but it's nice to have some official confirmation.

both of those are good to hear. i was contemplating getting gh3 disc only, but now i'll probably just pony up and get the wireless guitar too. i'll have the xplorer, les paul, and strat. might as well i guess...:rolleyes:

Game will be available separately - sounds like right from the launch. Good to have that confirmed.

Nothing very new at all from this, sadly.

Good to hear a 2nd confirmation about the release date being the 20th again. Also I like to hear that not just the bundle will be available at release date but there is also the option of buying the game by itself.

Wow, I'll be playing this the night after my 6 hour drive home to New Jersey. And I can bring it to my family's Thanksigiving get-together at my cousins' house.

Yeah, this is definitely good news! I was all hyped about having this for Thanksgiving to play Band World Tour all day with family, and then they said the 23rd and I thought "well, looks like we will be playing GH3"... but not anymore!!! Rock Band will stay in the system on Thanksgiving! Poor Mass Effect, I want to play it too, but with Rock Band coming out on the same day I may not put Mass Effect in for a week lol.

I can't wait!

If your singer is a random person you meet online are you going to be able to hear the person singing? Maybe through a headset?

Unfortunately, no. It's been confirmed through online play you can't hear the singer. You can only see how well they are doing by looking at where the lyrics scroll.

I can back him on it, as I've seen the article too. Look through Gamespot, or IGN interviews, you'll find it.

EDIT: We also have a stickied thread called "The Rock Band Noob Survival Guide" or whatever. Everything, and I mean everything in that guide has been confirmed. You'll find everything you need there :)

i think thats a 99% confirmation right there. he's basically saying if it works within the 360's menus, it should work in RB. red octane would literally have to have microsoft's approval to put some kind of patch on the system so it specifically would not work with other games. i don't see that happening.
