View Full Version : The silent singer© - help me increase my volume

I have a question that I have not yet seen on here...

It seems that for many people the singer is actually quite loud (I base this on youtube videos). When I sing there is no problem with the pitch registration, but my voice gets played in a really low volume. I have completely disabled the vox track and pushed my volume slider to the max - still nothing, I only really get a good volume if I scream into the mike.
While many people agree that it would be best if I did not get amplified when singing I wonder how everybody else seems to manage it.

I also have a gigantic microphone lag which would throw the song off anyway, but I'm currently reading this thread (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10861) so at the moment there are still options to be exhausted ;)

Increase your microphone level in your accessory setting. (it helps if you are using PS3 because I'm a PS3 owner) If you own a PS3, go to XMB and Accessory Settings.

Did you also adjust your mic sensitivity in the game? If you have both the mic volume and sensitivity maxed out, you should hear yourself very clearly. I personally leave both minimized to avoid hearing myself because the lag is too distracting.

Thank you for your replies. I play on the XBox, so no PS3 settings for me... also, the sensitivity adjustments did not change anything.

However, it seems I have a small breakthrough. I usually play with a VGA cable connecting my XBox to my monitor. Now if I change the cable and connect my XBox to the PC via composite cable I can hear myself loud and clear, but I get a big microphone lag... I have no ideas why the cables make such a big difference though.

Do you use a receiver for your sound? You could also try lowering the instruments, crowd volume, etc. in the game but leaving the mic volume and sensitivity at max, then just raise the volume on your receiver. That won't help with the lag, though. Almost everyone has mic lag in this game unless they are using an old CRT TV (non-HD).
