I'm about ready for some Community News.

Sean's been touting, since almost day one, that HMX has big things in the works for the Rock Band community. Well, we've received some Rock sized nuggets of awesomosity (can't be a thread referencing ol' Sean without dropping "awesomosity," now can there?) over the past few days, and I for one am not complaining, but I'm really itching to get a glimpse into what the mad Rock Gods at HMX have in store for us.

IGN (yes yes I know, the black sheep of the internet gaming sites) just had a nice little article on "the other game's" web portal and their community plans, and I've got to say, it sounds pretty ambitious and cool. Now I'm sure, seeing as how HMX has pretty much, without trying it seems, bested "that other game" in all ways, that Rock Band's community site will be cranked up to 12 (11 is the past, 12 is the future), but I wouldn't mind seeing something about it soon.

And really, with all the details on Band World Tour being dropped lately, wouldn't now be the best time to reveal some info. Surely the community site will be heavily involved in the Band World Tour as well.

So, let's have at it, Mr. and Mrs. HMX peeps. I'm sure your PR folk have a nice little tidy schedule of announcements and the major gaming sites have their nice little tidy articles of revelation embargoes until a certain date, but that's not Rock. That's not Rock at all. You think Sid Vicious listened to PR? You think Ozzy was concerned with controlling all information? NO! In fact, the first thing they tell you in PR school is that eating pigeon heads is not good PR. But Ozzy didn't listen. And look at where he is now? Okay, don't look at where he is now, look at where he was 20 years ago.

That's Rock.

I think it would be a neat community event to put up a forum poll, listing 5 possible DLC songs. And the community gets to vote on them, to determine the order they are released. That way we would learn some neat stuff about what is in store, and get a chance to influence its release.

I also had a craving for ice cream on my Fruit Loops this morning... so maybe I'm not in my right mind yet.

While I completely understand releasing information to major websites (that are read by a majority of gamers) as opposed to here (that is read only by us), it would be cool to announce some little tidbit here first.

Cool idea, I think it would be great to incorporate the community a bit more in the songs selection process, beyond what we had months ago where we could choose our top 4 songs we would like to see in the game.

As we get closer to release I think we will start to see even more changes to the community in preparation for Rock Band's release. I am very interested to see how they connect the community to the game in useful and fun way.

Ice Cream and Fruit Loops is probably delicious, once of the best ideas I've heard in a while! :D
