View Full Version : Rockband Endless setlist announced

Scorehero finally announced what the endless setlist is

In addition to sharing our impressions of Rock Band, we are proud to announce a brand new feature in Rock Band that will involve playing the entire setlist from start to end without having the chance to back out. We are not allowed to mention how many songs are in the game, or what you will get for completing the grueling task. But you'd better be prepared to spend nearly an entire working-day rocking out non-stop to get this notch under your belt!

So we finally know what it is. This must be the six hour setlist that they were talking about. I think that it will be pretty hard for your band--especially the drummer-- on expert.

So, if DLC can be used in the band world tour mode, does that mean the endless set list will get longer and longer as you buy more songs?!

(I'd imagine it will only be the "main" on disk songs though)

I hope not. That could end up (if you're rich) being over 24 hours of continuous play.

Thats going to be tough to do, I could see it being a bit hard to get everyone to play for that long. It's going to get a bit tiring, I'm up for the challenge though, it should be fun!

This sounds like a seriously fun task. I hope it autosaves your progress in some manner.

Yeah I was thinking that too. This pretty insane and I'd bet my soul it's the main setlist and the bonus tracks but not DLC.

I hope if it's just the main set list of 45 songs, that when you add DLC it just picks 45 of your songs randomly, that way the list doesn't get longer and longer, but you can at least freshen it up with non-disc songs.

It is the "Harmonix Endless Setlist", you have to play all of the unlockable, no name songs in a row.

What if you get half way thru and fail out? Do you have to start back over from the beginning?

I hope it saves it ever few songs at least and you start back at that point... otherwise this could be really tiring lol. And you need food, water, bathroom breaks. Hopefully you can pause it!

Well, not quite. The "Harmonix Endless Setlist" is the set list of the bonus songs that feature Harmonix staff. Granted, this is a significant portion of the bonus songs on previous GH hero games, but until we know the set of bonus songs we won't know how many that is this time. (For instance, no members of Harmonix are in The Konks--a confirmed bonus track band, however the confirmed Bang Camaro and VAGIANT tracks certainly contain Harmonix staff.)

Kurt from the Konks (vocals and drums) is most certainly an employee of Harmonix.

Also the Konks are amazing. One of the best live shows I've ever been to.

Just have a cup near by and piss in it. Drink it if you feel a little dehydrated. That's the way to rock man.

Question: How does difficulty work with respect to the Endless Setlist and the Platinum Artist achievement? Does the entire band have to be on expert, or do you just have to be expert on your individual instrument? Also, can you switch an instrument's difficulty mid-setlist?

Hmmm, maybe i should check out their upcoming show.

edit: looking at their video on myspace, does Kurt always play drums like that?

For the achievements, do you need to have 4 people playing or can you have 2-3? And does everyone need to be on expert to get the expert achievement, or can it be just 1 or 2 people on expert?

You should definitely check out their show.

And yes, Kurt always plays like that. "29 fingers and only two lousy drums!" It is amazing how full of a sound he gets out of it. And it looks awesome on stage.

Thats a pretty crazy way to play drums. They (The Konks) sound awesome, I really need to hear more of their stuff.

oh my god, freaking amazing.

I'm all over it.

I do hope there is an option to add DLC though... but hm, you CAN make your own setlist to play, correct? Is there a limit on the songs?

If possilbe, I'd like to be able to play the endless with all my dlc as an option, or at the very least make my own setlist that is as many songs as I want to put in, dlc included(maybe a cap of like 200 songs)

Times like these make me very happy that Activision bought RedOctane.

I made a post about this on PA, and I'm looking forward to this. The real trouble is going to be finding someone else who is willing to ROCK for an entire day. I wonder if this would be doable online with various members of the band signing off etc. We could have a Rock Band Forum endless set list day. This has truly been a collosal week for Rock Band... Harmonix deserves every bit of love they're getting this year.

so i figure you cant go and do this endless songlist by yourself and it has to be on rock band world tour mode.

Only if you play two parts, presumably one of them being vocalist.

Seems easy enough... just have my friend do bass with me... if you only need 2 people.

I've played the entire GH2 setlist on the 360 on co-op in one sitting.... or standing as it had been.

I can only see this being possible if you rotate drummers. Not that I won't do it.

And if it picks 45 random songs including DLC, you oculd get lucky and get a bunch of easy songs/get screwed with hard songs. That would suck.

This is where us real drummers are at an advantage. We can do this stuff all day without breaking a sweat. It could be the 10 hour setlist, and we'd still be holding out.

All you non-drummists out there...good luck. You be needin' it.

I wonder if, with less than four players, if you could switch the instruments you're playing between songs... People keep talking about the drummer, but I'm more worried about having to sing for six hours straight. And it wouldn't matter what difficulty you try, you're still gonna have no voice the next day...

BathTub
10-19-2007, 05:56 PM
Seems a lot of people are going on about 6 hours,... there must be a lot of very long songs left to announce because the current ones don't come anywhere near 6 hours, more like 2.
