So they finally got the go-ahead to post about it, sweet, can't wait to read it all!

Few things I found interesting:

*One thing to note, when selecting the part (guitar or bass), it is possible for both players on the guitar controllers to select the same part (both guitar, or both bass) and the game will randomly assign different parts among the two. For example, elx and I played several times in a row on guitars and would commonly both choose Guitar and one of us would default to Bass automatically.

*"solo sections" when the screen turns blue and a "solo percent" display pops up indicating your progress as the solo is played.

*5-way switch which changes the sound effects of the guitar when overdrive as activated

*Overdrive phrases no longer "overwrite" one another. Meaning, you can pickup an additional 25%+ to your meter for completing an overdrive phrase while it's draining, and the activation will simply last that much longer before deactivating.

*Unlike GH, activating Overdrive doesn't change the individual multiplier, but rather increases the band multiplier. The band multiplier is simply 1x, 2x, 4x, 6x, or 8x depending if 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 players are under Overdrive activations at once.

*Throughout songs, there are various opportunities to gather points outside of the traditional scoring scheme above through bonuses. Just to name a few that I can recall, after solo sections, a particular bonus will be awarded depending on the percentage of notes hit throughout the solo.

*To "save" an instrument, one member activates Overdrive, and a half bar is used to bring back the failed member in place of activating overdrive.

* There was one song (which I cannot name) that we played... probably 10 times trying to pass it. The only instrument that didn't fail was bass. Guitar, vocals AND drums were all hard enough to cause failures. We did finally pass it in the end, by the way.
Wonder what it could be!?!

This is seriously turning out to be an amazing week for Rock Band!

So a bassist can get a 6x multiplier. Plus, if all four band members are in overdrive, you get a band multiplier of 8x.

So, for stretches of a song, a bassist can rock out with a 14x multiplier. There are songs like Reptilia, with fast repeating bass lines, where this will be outrageous!

I believe that it would actually end up being the insanely high 48x multiplier. Take the traditional star power set up in the GH games. Using this system, the highest you can get is a 4x multiplier and a 2x band multiplier. That yields an 8x total multiplier since the two numbers are multiplied, not added. In RB the respective example would be 6x bass and 2x band = 12x total. Following the same formula, 6x bass and 8x band = 48x multipler.

Wow, it looks as though there may be an actual final song that isn't announced, I thought it was gonna be Foreplay Long Time, or Wont Get Fooled Again, or maybe even Highway Star.

Im super excited to see what it is!

It might even be a bonus song rather than a final. But if it is a final not yet announced, I am so hoping for Hocus Pocus.

Hocus Pocus? Yes please.

Although I do like the faster, live version over the recorded one.

(sorry, the only recorded one I could find was a custom)

PS: You're right, they never mentioned if it was a setlist song, nice catch!

I don't look forward to yodelling in front of people. I think forced yodelling should be a crime.
