View Full Version : Cool idea or not?

I figured I'd just throw this thread and idea out here for discussion and see what you all thought.

For the mesh head drum mods...since they are see through, how about putting a small light at the bottom of each pad or rope lighing around the bottom rim on the inside of each pad, and for each, the light is the same color as the pad, red/yellow/blue/green and when you hit the pad, the light flickers. Kinda like a strobe light effect. Every time you hit the pads the lights, light up for a split sec. Maybe for the kick drum have a small orange light that mounts on the forward cross bar and it points straight up so when the kick drum is pressed it lights up the whole drum kit from underneath.

In the dark or a low lit setting that would be a cool effect while playing. Of course it's all for show but thought it would be kinda cool if it didn't have negitive affects on sensitivity or accuracy while playing. The lights don't have to be very bright where they are annoying or distracting but just enough so you or a person watching you play can see them light up and be a cool stage effect.

I don't know the electronics of how to make that all work but I'd think you could get the power from the usb connection and wire the lighting effects up to the drum sensor so when the drum head registers a hit for the game it also makes the lights light up.

Anyway, just something I always thought would be kinda cool.

That would be cool.

And you could do a lot more, too. Hook it up to a Clapper for an even GREATER effect! :)

YES, JUST LIKE THAT !!!!

Of course with that the lights stay on for as long as you hold the button down so for the drums it obviously just flickers the light for a split second but yes yes yes, that's the concept.

Thanks for posting that link.
