Why do the Doors get such a bad rap about being bad musicians? If anything, technically they were great. I think Jim over shadowed Robby, Ray, and Johns talent as musicians.

You need to move. Seriously, move so you are not around the people that are telling you this. I have never heard the Doors musicianship slagged in my life. I even live in Arkansas now, and I have met some real idiots, but they would never say the Doors were bad musicians.
Ray Manzarek is an amazing keyboardist. John Densmore could have played with jazz greats. Anyone that doubts Robby's playing would only need listen to "Spanish Caravan" to have said doubts cleared, and Morrison's poetry was confrontational and thought provoking when not simply making the girls wet themselves. I would say they were pretty sound.

I agree. The Doors were and still are fantastic players. Inventive, poetic, and skilled.
