I was just wondering if or when the Rock Band Bundle would be able for preordering in Canada. Any insights into my question would be more than appreciated.

I'm not in Canada, but can't you pre-order from any online store? Or will they not ship to Canada at the moment?

I pre-ordered it at EB, that would probably be your best bet.

I've preordered both Rock Band and that other rhythm game from EBGames with no problems at all.

I probably should've been a bit more specific. I meant in terms of the Rock Band Bundle being available at Canadian outlets and online stores (e.g. bestbuy.ca, amazon.ca, etc.) in order to save on shipping costs.

No, I tried looking online and NONE of the Canadian sites are offering the bundle online. You also can't pre-order from the American one so your options are limited.

Hopefully it'll become available as the release date gets closer and closer.

I have the boxed set pre-ordered at my local EB. They don't have a finalized price for us yet, though.

Actually, if they *only* charge us $200 + tax, I'll be happy. It'll cost a good chunk more than that to get it in from the States, even with our dollar being as strong as it is. Not to mention that many American retailers aren't shipping the box set to Canadian addresses. Guess we'll have to wait and see. I'd be pretty frustrated if they try to sell it for $250+, though.

Well Guitar Hero III is being sold for $99.99 at EB and Best Buy for the 360/PS3 versions. If I'm not mistaken that's the same regular price at is being sold for in US. I can only hope it will be the same deal with Rock Band.

Actually i work at EB games and we r definately taking pre orders, but we dont have a finalized price yet unfortunately. I think Ea should keep it at 169.99 for canada tho, if they are smart. And do you guys know for sure if the price on GH III for Ps3 is $100 CND? because our computers say 120... and we arent allowed to take anymore GH preorders its kinda ***, i didnt pre order it when i could have.

I wholeheartedly agree, but I was also told by the manager at my EB that our price would be significantly different from the Americans' due to 'market differences'. After all, we still pay 10% more for the individual games, regardless of what our dollar's doing. My guess is the game will be $69.99, and the boxed edition ~$199.99 as that seems a common price point for large peripheral equipment packages.

I suppose that's always a scenario when you're dealing with big packages but would it really be all that different in comparison to GH3? I'm not too sure on how it works when importing packages from the States so can someone tell me if it's like 5x bigger would that affect the cost?

As I posted last week, there are rumours of a delay up here in Canada.

As each day passes and there is no official announcement about price or date, I fear that these rumours are true.

Rumours are just that, rumours. Not to mention it was purely speculation from some person's gaming blog. Harmonix prepared GH + GH2 with French Manuals and hit us with the same release date, why would they suddenly become uninformed for Rock Band? I'm 99% sure there will be no delay, this is Harmonix.

My (admittedly limited) research seems to be pointing at about $220-240 Canadian to import it from the States. That covers price of admission, tax, shipping, etc. The main problem is whether or not the online American retailers will ship to Canadian addresses, as my attempt to drop a preorder on the 360 version of the boxed set at EBGames.com was met with a 'you cannot currently ship this item to international addresses'. Oddly enough, I didn't get this same message with the PS3 version.

I imagine the delay on a Canadian price is due largely to the high dollar. If they try to charge too much up here, then we flock to the American import sites. It's likely a topic on the agenda of many Canadian retailers, nervously watching the release date approaching as the hordes wait at the gates.

The import tax depends on a few things were the game is made and were the drums, mic, guitar is made. if all is made in the usa there is no import tax but if it's made out of lets say china there is a 19% import tax on top of the gst and pst/hst you pay when you cross the item. luckly for me i live on the border in ontario to New york state and i have a few friends on the indian reservation and they pay no tax and no import fee:D .
So if it to much here in Cornwall ont, off to the super walmart or gamestop in Ny

It's $109.99 at Futureshop and $102.99 at Blockbuster.

Even with the dollar's rise I doubt it would delay the game, I mean at most I would imagine the price to be $200 CDN. I'd be pissed about the $30 but hell I've waited to long anyways so I'd be more than happy to pay it off if it means I get the game the same day Americans do.

So, is there a way we can dispel this delay rumour once and for all?

Whom can we contact?

I have been in touch with the major online retailers up here in Canada, and none of them are able to answer much.

I wish Peter Moore had tatooed his email address to his arm so that I could get in touch with him. Yes, I know that he is with EA Sports, but at least he is with EA.

Looks like price may not be an issue.
