Any hint at how much more complex the guitar controller is going to be? More frets, individual strings, ect?

well, I was hoping we would be able to use the GH guitars.. apparently not.

and now I am worried about the price. but I'm guessing there will be bundles, say, one of my friends gets Rock Band: Drummer while I pick up Rock Band: Lead Guitar, etc, or maybe an all in one pack as well

although, whatever the price, I'm going to be all over it.

i'm going to love this game, I'm so happy online will be a big part.

now only if the library of songs could be in the thousands, THAT would be amazing. but I'm not gonna push it.. :)

I hope it's just one big package, so you can just get them all out of the way (and why wouldn't you want to own every instrument?). And yeah I'm also curious as to how the guitar will defer from GH's guitar (possibly pedals? Hmm)

And as for songs in the thousands, :D I highly doubt, however I don't foresee this franchise having sequels because the online portion is being boasted about. So I think we'll be seeing microtransactions for additional songs and other extras.

Part of me wishes for it to be an "either or" type of deal.

Smaller buttons, two or three more would be excellent :) Or maybe lay them out a bit like real strings?

I'm looking forward to seeing the drum set. Also being able to use the Guitar Hero controller would be nice, though I doubt they'd make their own guitar that generic.

As cool as the current GH contoler is, I can imagine them radicly improving it for Rock Band. I dont know how but I hope it's good. Even small things such as adding a zero fret where u just strum (although that wouldnt change the controller, just the game) but whatever, its gonna rock.

As for how its going to be sold... i have no idea. Will the guitar and bass players use the same controller or will a Bass controller be released? Are there going to be radical differences between ps3 and xbox controllers? Will i need to hire a trailer to transport my Rock Band drum kit from the store to my house?

I don't think the guitar/bass will use strings; it would alienate a lot of potential customers. If they are implamenting some kind of string system that they know WON'T alienate people then, wow. Perhaps a string/button combination system? If it adds more buttons, do you think it would be down the neck or do a side by side thing. Like, imagine the GH buttons cut in half (down the line of the neck) so you have 2 rows of 5 buttons. Probably be too cramped *shrug* Having too many more buttons down the neck would get kinda silly. Who knows...

what if they make the bass and guitar different. That would be pretty cool playing an actual bass controller rather than a guitar like in GH2. But damn, this would cost nearly $150 to bundle in all of them!

if you figure 50 on the game, and 50 for each piece of equipment, then your talking about AT LEAST $250 for this thing...

Granted, thats a bit high for the microphone, but thats also low for any type of drum setup... so it equals out.

Who knows.. damned speculation.

I think it was GS that posted it as being about 300 dollars for everything in a bundle.

Well, what I'm hoping for the peripherals is:
As for the guitar, try straying as far away from GH as possible with design and play as possible. I mean, it's nice and all, but I'd much rather do it like this: fully plastic guitar (to lower the price) along with plastic strings, not exactly tuneable, but more like a clicking device allowing the guitarist/bassist to change to drop d or drop c tuning, or anything else. Finally, maybe a pick-up to send the waves into the cord and have it much like a digital guitar tuner (which is quite cheap) indentifying the note played and matching it up with a song you want to play in a campaign mode of sorts, and possibly displaying the note to your band members on the screen so they can be in key when writing a song. If they go with the button crap then they're just going to end up being a 3rd party GH3, which is bad.
For the drums, a lap held digital set is pretty much your only option. People aren't going to want to pay so much on a giant digital drum set.
Microphone should be priced a bit lower than the other instruments, maybe to keep the prices even make each mic come with a back up?
