I'm not a fan of the Spiderman series so much but thats a pretty good deal. I'll definitely rent this movie as it should be one of the best looking movies on blu-ray

This model doesn't lack anything does it? (Chrome trim, memory adapters) You know like the 60 Gig or w,e. I know one model has more then the other... If this has everything the 80 gig does them damnit. I'm getting a job and buying one :p

As far as I read it has only 2 usb ports, 2 less than the 60 or 80GB model, but hey that's no big deal, you can always get a usb hub if you need extra ports....

There is one thing lacking in the 40 gig version. And thats Backwards Compatible. Which kinda pisses me off. When I bought a PS2, the first thing I did was traded or sold to a friend (can't remember which) my PS1. Because I still can play all my ps1 games on it.
This deal looks great, but without it having BC is kinda sad.

Nah, only have 2 USB doesn't bother me at all. My friend told me as long as you use a HardDrive compatible you can just switch it out with a laptop harddrive, is that true?

I think only the 60 and 80GB models are. I could care less though honestly. the PC has a great PS1 emulator and i'd imagine within a year or 2 the PS2 emulator will be working top notch. So really there isn't a point in having a system that is BC, you can just pop your games into the PC and even improve the graphics if you want.

The 40 GB PS3 is partly BC. It will play PS1 games but not PS2 games. 60 and 80 GB are fully BC.

I don't know why the 40GB is not, but if you don't have any PS2 games then who cares..... I sold all my PS2 games and console to save for my PS3 purchase back in Oct-06....:D

All but this model are. You need a memory card adapter to play your old saves. I wish I had a PS3. My collection would be complete (Then I need a PSP to complete my handheld collection). But the 40 gig is pure ****. It is god awful. I remember how there were only two models out there. Now, there's like nine million. 80 gig, 20 gig, 40 gig, 60 gig, 32 mb, 1000 kb, 8 mb, how much different models do we need? The only model I'd take home with me is this one:

Well... maybe not the only one.

Meh, with my PSP I can rip my PS1 games to the PC and convert them to play on my PSP. So i'm really not worried about playing them on any consoles any time soon.

I do stuff like that with my DS. R4 hacking is fun. I have movies (Super Bad, Back To The Future, opening of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie, Rick Roll), tons of music, NES games, SNES games, Sega Genesis games, and downloaded DS games. I also have a couple of text files of Maddox pages along with pictures of kittens.

Yeah I know what you mean dude, all the spiderman movies pretty much suck, but if I would have to pick one, it would be spiderman 3. The one thing I hate the most is, that in all three movies, they always make out the bad guys to be the victims, the make you feel sorry for them, why can a bad guy just be bad for no damn reason!!!?? you know!!?? he's the "bad guy"!! :p

I haven't been on my PS3 that often recently. I just picked up a HD receiver from my cable company and I've been so amazed watching everything in HD. I live near Boston so I'm basically glued to the TV during the baseball playoffs for the Sox.

While this is all true, another thing it's missing I believe is the possibility for memory adapters..
As much as the price makes it tempting, I think I'll end up with the 60 or 80gig!

Or just buy it in the spring next year. Late Spring. PS3 should have alot of better games by then.

What about all the great games coming out this holiday season??!! or are you just talking about exclusives? but even then.....R&C future, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3, FF14 to name a few, not to mention Home.
