Forum Lingo

Hey all, This is really the first forum I've ever posted this much on (still not a lot, I know), and I have a question. I'm not too familiar with some of the lingo and such...I get most of the acronyms, but when people type teh (instead of "the") is it a typo, or are they doing it on purpose?

I know it's kindof a pointless thread, but this has been annoying me for quite some time now...:o

Well, I really never ever use forum lingo, or even any internet lingo other than "brb" (Be right Back). When I was in elementary school, on our computers, our teacher would make us take tons of typing lessons, so they just kinda had this effect on me. But, as for some of the lingo...there isn't much, other than:

FFS - For F*ck's Sake

IMO- In My Opinion

IMHO - In My Honest Opinion

"teh" is just a common typo for the, no special meaning. Just, if you're typing fast, you'd naturally hit the "e" key before the "h", because it's closer to the "t"

cool, like I said, mostly have the acronyms (was wondering about FFS) but the "teh" was really bothering me! I thought people just did that on purpose...glad to know I was wrong!

If you see someone type 'lawl', they are basically making fun of those that type 'lol'. I rarely say 'lawl' and never say 'lol'.

Then you'd see FTW which means For The Win. WTF means What The ****. Others you should have already guessed are RB which is Rock Band, GH which is Guitar Hero, and PS3 for PlayStation 3.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not really up on all that internet lingo anymore but I believe:

Teh is one of those internet "slang" words (I guess you could call it) which came about I believe just simply as a typo, similar to how people type "pwn" instead of "own". It doesn't mean anything more than "the" but I find it is often used in some kind of degrading way either to mock someone or something.

Now that I think about net slang is pretty much based off the properly used f-bomb. That and common typos.
