The Who aren't a punk band, per se, but they laid the foundations for punk rock. Kind of like how Neil Young is considered The Godfather of Grunge, yet very few (if any) of his songs would really qualify as grunge.
Some of my favorite nick names and titles:
Adam Ant: "The Dandy Highwayman"
David Bowie: "Ziggy Stardust", "The Thin White Duke"
Little Richard: "The Queen of Rock n' Roll"
Keith Richards and Mick Jagger: "The Glimmer Twins"
EDIT: Ack, how could I forget this one...
Axl Rose: "The Biggest Jerk in Rock"

yeah but pete and moon pretty much invented punk style, Smashing guitars and drums, just alot of the staples of punk
the sex pistols and the clash site the Who as a major influence
But they also say the same about Iggy
so maby Iggy is the godfather and Pete is the Father

Yea I do , too much bs in that forum. People just thread crapping all over and no one really reads what people have to say and comment. No real discussion over there IMO.

dave Grohl gave me an autograph in a meijer checkout line in Grand rapids once. He asked if we saw the show and asked if we had fun or not he then thanked me for supporting the band. if more rockstars were as nice as hoim music would be better off.

Theodore "Ted" Nugent a.k.a. The Ten Fingers of Doom,The Nuge, Uncle Ted, Terrible Ted, Sweaty Teddy, Deadly Tedly, Great Gonzos, The Atrocious Theodocious and The Motor City Madman.
LOOK OUT! It's Terrible Ted and his ten fingers of doom!
I've always like Slash. It's just a badass name in general.
The Edge is pretty sweet too. Hes not one of my favourite guitarists, but I dig the name.
John Entwistle's "The Ox" is really cool as well.
That's all I can think of right now, but I'll post again if I think of more that I like.
