Where are you pre-ordering from

I Pre-Ordered Halo 3 from Best Buy to get a $20 points card for $5. All in all it was worth it, but I did not like the extra steps I needed to go through to pick it up. So I am looking for the best cheapest place to pre-order.

Any suggestions? I would like the get the game as soon as possible with the least amount of hassle and the cheapest I can (In that order). Anyone here have a favorite place they pre-order their Xbox 360 games from?

I preorder from amazon.com on July 23. I ordered from there because I am a prime member so I get overnight shipping for 4 bucks.

Just got my pre-order at Game Crazy. It's closer then the Gamestop by my house becuase I know I'm gonna be in way to big of a hurry to get home and play. I'm not going to want to wait to go through 10 stop lights.

I pre-ordered three times. First at GameStop in Chapel Hill, then I cancelled it because I will be at home, a trillion hours away, on Black Friday. Next, I pre-ordered at a GameStop back at home. And now that the release date is actually the 20th, I'm pre-ordering yet again in Chapel Hill. I'll leave the one at home alone for now, in case something goes wrong with the one at school, I can hopefully rely on at least picking it up once I go home for Thanksgiving.

It's certainly much more convenient, but it may cost more if they charge you for shipping and tax. Plus you can't guarantee when it will arrive in the mail. Then again, you can't guarantee some awesome guy at the store won't sell somebody your pre-order, but at least its less likely.

I dropped by gamestop today, and they have a promotion, if you trade in a game (any game) towards the preorder of the Rockband bundle pack, you get an extra 30% off the 169.99 price.

That's pretty cool, too bad I made my preorder way back in August....:(

I'm definitely going to be calling my local store tomorrow to see if they are doing that, and to see if they will honor it since I have already preordered as well....

Not that I doubt your word, but that's $50 cheaper....Hell of a deal.

Dude they had it in plain view!! in clear black an white. But yeah might as well double check, I'm going back tomorrow. hehe! I feel kinda stupid :o I don't know why it didn't occur to me, of course cancel and preorder again.....:D

I am not sure, I have literally never stepped foot in a Gamestop until I went to preorder Rock Band. I normally just goto bestbuy. The only reason I say it sounds too good to be true is that stuff like that, ie games, consoles, ect. Have very little markup at the store level. So if that is true with Rock Band as well, the store is most definitely taking a hit on that. That's very uncommon.

Granted I haven't seen this particular promotion yet, but similiar promos from gamestop have been trade in's get an extra % of the traded in games value when applied to a preorder. So it wouldn't be $50 off of Rock Band, but if they offered you $10 in trade for your game, you'd get a total of $13 off if you applied to Rock Band.

I ended up ordering my copy from barnes and nobel, who are affiliated with GaemStop.

Gamestop's system's wouldnt accept my credit card coz i dont live in the US (which is weird considering they do international orders)

I have mine pre-ordered from Gamestop. I would have gone to Best Buy to earn a few points on my card, but wanted to avoid that place on black friday. GS still has a 11/23 release date as of 10/19. I'll have to look into that promo. Sounds too good to be true.
