Being a desperate Canadian and now finding myself with the opportunity to visit the In-Laws for Thanksgiving in Maine, I saw this as a perfect opportunity to avoid all the uncertainty about when the game will show up at Canada and simply order it online and have it delivered to their home.

So I went over to GameStop to check it out and I've noticed that they still have their ship date marked as November 23rd, and not the 20th. While I still have every intention of getting the game, the difference in days will determine which shipping option I ultimately choose, so I asked them about whether or not they were going to change their shipping date to reflect the new one Harmonix has announced. The official response was this:

Thank you for contacting GameStop.com.

As soon as the manufacture notifies us of a change on the release
date we will be updating the information. We do not change the date
until that time. If you do hear from some other source that the release
date is different than the release date we show, we are only able to
verify that with the manufacture. At this time I do see that the release
date is still set for November 23, 2007. If you have any other
questions, please feel free to respond to this email.

So I guess as soon as someone over at EA, MTV or Harmonix gets on the phone to officially inform them, they'll make the change. Until then, the 23rd it is for people choosing to use GameStop as their means of online ordering.

yeah, a lot of online merchants still have the 23rd listed as the release date, guess they're just a little slow . . . . or they think its just another rumor?

We've got time. They'll correct their date by then -- I've never seen a game with a shifted date get NOT sold on release day. The store would be committing suicide by saying "Durrr, we think it's X date, so we can't sell it to you today." All their business would go across the street to the guys who have a clue.
