Me:This product's release date has officially changd to November 20th (instead of the 23rd as listed). Will gamestop.com be reflecting this change shortly? ( Subject read "Rock Band Release Date")
Them:
Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for contacting GameStop.com. We are unable to change the release date for items until the manufacture contacts us with the information. We do understand that there is word on a different date but until Nintendo lets us know that it has officially been changed then we will be keeping the release date at November 23, 2007. If you have any other questions, please feel free to respond to this email. Best Regards, NicoleGamestop.com

Thank god the online site of gamestop is a different entity than the retail counterpart. They are idiots. I have to call them sometimes and I swear its like they never even picked up a controller before.

Makes me want to switch my preorder, but there really are few other options that will get it to me on the 20th.

Ive preordred twice from amazon and got it the day after and 2 days after release from amazon....So my guess is the 21st I'm going to get it. Plus that was on free shipping, I changed to standard shipping just in case....

Hopefully the available copies won't have all been preordered. We still have no information on what the game's initial print run will be.

Well I've read the reason there aren't any seperate instruments until 2008 is because they want to have as many bundles and lowest price they can for it this year.

Ooh thanks for that, that's a relief, I did the same as you, standard shipping, free shipping worried me a bit. I guess I can look forward to getting it on the 21st then, hopefully the 20th though *Crosses Fingers*

They still have a month to correct it...I'm sure it wont be too difficult for GameStop to adjust it.

That business about Nintendo seems really weird... I went to ign.com and read the very few articles they have about RB for the Wii. The most recent article was all the way from April: (http://wii.ign.com/articles/777/777553p1.html) and it was a blurb more than anything. I went and pre-ordered the bundle this past Monday, and the release date at that time was for the 20th when I asked. It doesn't make sense that they would change it yet again to accommodate Nintendo.

Gamestop is retarted. Yea I said it. The retail side is bad, but the Online side is worse.

I just called my Gamestop cause I wanted to see what they said about the release date.
Me: "Hi, are you still letting people reserve Rock Band?"
Him: "Yes, what system you gettin' it for?"
Me: "360".
Him: "Okay, let's see... yep. Okay, the price is going to be $169 and if you want to reserve it you'll have to put down at least $25 dollars."
Me: "Alright."
Him: "And if you want to reserve it I suggest you do it.. like, tomorrow."
Me: "Do you know how many you'll be getting?"
Him: "We'll most likely only get enough to cover the pre-orders, since the box is so big. We won't get any extras, just because of the size."
Me: "Okay, well, do you know what the release date is going to be on it?"
Him: "Yeah, it's going to release on November 23 and it might be out on November 20th, but we aren't sure yet."
Me: "Alright, thanks very much."
Him: "Oh, and don't forget, if you trade in some of your used games you don't play anymore, you can get up to 30% off the bundle and it'll go on your EDGE card." (He said something like that.)
Me: "Ok, I'll remember that. Thanks."
Well, I dunno what to do. I think I'm gonna go reserve it tomorrow at Gamestop, and then I'll get online and reserve it on Gamestop's website, since they don't charge you until they ship it, and then I'll see if our Wal-Mart is going to get any, and if they do, I'll just wait there that night, and since I work there, I have a 10% discount card I can use for it.
I'd rather be safe than not get it on the release date. :)

I didn't see mention of this deal on their website, but thanks much for the heads up that's certainly not something to pass up. So is the 30% just basically store credit that they put on your edge card to be used in the future, or what?

What kind of games? I'd be incredibly sad if 7 next-gen games saves you only roughly $50. Maybe it's just me, but with $60 games, I only buy ones I really want, and I'd rather keep them even if I don't play them anymore, than sell them for $7 or so. Even $7 for a PS2 game would make me sad, unless we're talking about Madden 2002 and stuff like that, but generally I know they don't include sports games with their special offers.
Edit: Unless you meant 7 games earned you $134 in credit, which is somewhat better I suppose. But even then I'd hate to sell them a PS3 game for $20, knowing they're going to put a sticker on it, and try selling it for $54.95.
