OXM's Guitar Hero 3 Review Excerpt

Got my copy of OXM with the GH3 demo. I've only tried out the Pat Benatar song in the demo but so far so good and I actually like how easier it is to activate Star Power.

Anyway, I won't go into details about OXM's review of the game like the rating and so forth, but I'll do quote a few complaints they do have...

"The focus has shifted from pretending you're awesome to realizing that you suck. 'You HAVE to make him FAIL before the end or else YOU LOSE,' urges the Battle Instruction Screen. Enough said."

"...we won't argue with 'Welcome to the Jungle' or Slash's participation as a boss (as with Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello, you'll HAVE to make him FAIL in a single-player mode to unlock him...and you'll need to pony up $10K of gig money, too)."

Shifting the focus from look semi badass playing guitar hero with your buddy, to looking like a stupid ass flinging guitars around shooting "power ups" around. Thats real cool.

So with all of this increased difficulty (losing 10k when losing a battle and ****) there's going to be achievements just sitting there, mocking you how you can't get them. Kind of like that pizza in the Ninja Turtles game. You know what I'm talking about.

Bingo. As a kid I couldn't even get passes the under water bomb stage. Hell, I couldn't even get passes Bowser on the first world in Super Mario.

Dude I know. One time the game glitched and I got stuck in one of them boinger things in mario. The things that launch you. I remember I cried cause it was like the first time I made it to the 3 level.

One thing that could have saved my childhood was the infinite continues cheat in Mario. When you get a game over, hold A then press start at the main menu (While still holding A). You'll start off at the same world you died on (Just not level). So if you die on 6-4, you'll restart on 6-1.

I thought it was gonna be ******ed but after actually playing it the new battle mode is pretty sweet. Its just fun, my girlfriend amd I have a blast with it.
