Please convince MTV to purchase the Guitar Hero IP from RedOctane. I'm sure most of you have seen the abortion that is GH3 (http://www.youtube.com/user/pdtecrj). Neversoft has made a mockery of the Guitar Hero franchise in just one game (took them 4 with the Tony Hawk games).

Seriously. Everyone (other than reviewers  ) that has played the new "battle mode" think its utter crap and not fun at all. The character design is horrendous (the singer somehow looks WORSE live than in screenshots; and don't even get me started on Judy & Midori). And then of course there's the heart of the game, the notecharts.

Everyone over at Scorehero is basically saying, "if you can't handle it, go to hard". The point their missing is that Guitar Hero was never about difficulty. It was always about a fun game you could rock out to and with your friends. I distinctly remember Harmonix saying they didn't want GH to become a competitive game. At least not in the IIDX/DDR sense. Its very apparent Neversoft is catering to the very vocal top %1 of Scorehero and it crap.

I could point out so many flaws and ridiculous things in the notecharts of the videos the guy on Youtube posted, but I'm sure most people here are able to see them already. I will say this though: What the hell is up with the damn 3 note chord hell? It wasn't fun in What I Like About You in 80s, so it certainly isn't going to be fun IN EVERY SONG.

So Harmonix, I beg you. Get MTV to purchase the GH IP, have them give you a bigger budget to handle both game, hire the more people that it would take to be able to work on both (many development houses work on multiple games at once) and restore the Guitar Hero franchise to its former glory.

P.S. To those who would say the same as the people on Scorehero to bump it down to hard, I probably won't have to as I'm sure I can pass all the songs fine on expert. Doesn't mean it'll be any fun doing so.

I'll second everything u just said.

I knew Neversoft would screw up the game a little, but this is crazy. Can't just blame their overall suckiness though, it is their first attempt at this kinda game, right?

Guitar Hero just doesn't feel the same anymore.

I agree with you.

I also completely agree with ya, man. Only Harmonix could stop this train-wreck from getting worse.

You know, this whole Guitar Hero situation can be summed up in a metaphor; a parable, if you will.

Now, I'm not a religious man, but I remember my Catholic schooldays. There's a parable in the Bible about a son who takes his share of his father's inheritence and goes and spends it on the fast life; sex, drugs, and rock n roll. Once his money is all gone, he ends up workin at some job he doesn't like, ain't gettin paid well in the slightest, and all his fame is gone. So he crawls back home to his dad and says that he's willing to work as one of his servants as long as the father takes him back. But the dad is so happy that the son is home that he cleans him up and everything and throws a party for his homecoming. There's some religious meaning to it, but that's not what I'm tryin to get at.

This can somewhat be related to what's goin on with Guitar Hero. GH leaves his dad (Harmonix) with his share of the "fortune" (all the fame that GH has gotten) and goes out to partake in his share of the fast life. Everyone is partying with the kid and everything is just dandy. But then, when release day comes, all his fame is gone, his reputation shot, his loyal followers gone with it. And now what? Now he's back at the bottom, a slave to his new owner (Activision) who is completly ruining his good name. Harmonix has to step up and call back their "prodigal son" and rebuild him to what he once was. Once they do that, then Guitar Hero can go back to his old ways, safe and sound in the home of Harmonix. The sooner they do that, the sooner he can go back to divulging in the sex, drugs, and rock n roll, just the way it's supposed to be.

Amen.

No way Activision/RO would give up their cash cow though. Absolutely no chance.

This hasn't even been released yet. At least hold off on your complaining until you have the full game

They don't want it anymore. They have something WAYYYY more bigger. Rock Band blows guitar hero away.

Screwy notecharts makes me sad... almost makes me contemplate cancelling my pre-order, but I really need something to hold me over until Rock Band next year (yeah, next.. year...)

I hope it's at least addressed in reviews, and they're not all gushing fountains of joy.

I'm worried about it now too, I'm not sure if I should have gotten it, hopefully when I play it I change my mind about it, I do need something to hold me over for the next month until I get to play the best game ever, Rock Band!
