House of the Rising Sun - The Animals

While known more for their short involvement in the "keyboards are cool" era of rock, alongside the likes of Steppenwolfe, the song would translate great for RB, especially the vocals. The guitar has a China Cat Sunflower vibe to it, only darker.

The Saints are Coming - The Skids

For some reason, Green Day was officially labeled emo by some, even though they covered this song from the 1978 bunk band the Skids. Not necessarily a challenging song, it'd be the type you'd play and people would recognize, and at the same time learn a little about the history of rock.

"house of the rising sun" would be fantastic. i doubt we'd get a master, but if they could capture the atmosphere of that song i'd cream myself.

That's what I was thinking. These are relatively unknown people, so their masters probably aren't in a heavily protected vault, or anything. But, if we get the Pixies for some reason...

um, it has nothing to do with how unknown a band is... it's got more to do with when the song was recorded. the animals were around before my time, unfortunately.

I bet The Beatles or Elvis masters are still around, though. I always figured, ever since learning The Sex Pistols had to redo a song for GH3, that the bigger bands have more security with their masters than those who don't make a profit. Hence the ridiculous price for The Beatles and such.
