Hey guys i've been progressively getting alot better at drums on rock band. I worked my way through hard failing songs here and there. Now i finally beat the police and i'm stuck on RTTH. What are some tips that ya got for me. Thx

Focus on the snare (red) and bass especially. If you can't hit the yellows in the triplets, skip them and focus on the red and bass.

If you positively, absolutely, need to beat the song just to get by, then follow this video tutorial.

You can literaly beat the song with one hand (on hard at least)

Do yourself a favor and once you get better at fills and technique, go back and beat the song legitimately. It is much more satisfying.

I finally beat this on expert drums just about an hour ago, using a completely stock kit, with foam silencers. The big difference....I bought real drumsticks, they actually rebound properly and make things alot easier.

I assure you, it is not impossible. You just need to get comfortable and just start playing and make sure your drum pads are at the right height. If they're too low you'll just get tired to fast.

Please realize that some of us drummers are not naturally gifted. Run to the Hills, Foreplay, even Orange Crush are just too fast for me to wrap my head around. Without learning new proper technique, I would never be able to play them on expert. Well, Orange Crush anyway. Still working on Foreplay. Run to the Hills is a long way off.

Reds are hi-hat hits, yellows are snares in Run of the Hills.

I've read a ton of these RttH threads...a lot of folks just go on to the Expert tour and come back to RttH because its so difficult on hard. There are various strategies to pass it though I have to admit I hadn't heard about doing it with one hand; I'll have to check that one out. I figure someday I will pass it, but meanwhile I'm plugging away on Expert, trying to get my leg in shape!

Just note that in RTTH on hard your right hand is actually keeping a steady hit. It's just that between every other right hand you are hitting with the left hand.

It's tough - in fact it's probably harder than expert.

And as for "the crazy bass section" - the whole song is like that on expert :)

I haven't gotten to this one yet, but in the credits it mentions a bunch of people I've never heard of. My assumption is this the "Run To The Hills" originally by Iron Maiden. Is that the case?

Yeah, it's that song, but it's a cover version in the game.
