Yeah, HMX sends out their stuff well before the day it's up for download. They've said this in the past when DLC was delayed on the PS3 when the PS3 network got updated for 2 weeks. Doubt HMX could answer for the delay.

Why cant they update the damn store on thrusdays like they are supposed to do? Do the network fixing at like 3 in the morning when no one is really up and or playing. Sony still lagging behind Xbox even when it comes to giving us dlc. God, why o why did I sell me 360?

Hey guys, thought I would drop some knowledge down.

Every Thursday information about that week's tracks is uploaded to the servers that maintain our In-Game Store. This information has data embedded into it that is essentially tied to a timer (whatever time Sony agrees to to go live with the DLC). If, for whatever reason, the DLC does not go live at the agreed upon time, the superficial data associated with the DLC will show up in the store automatically, but the song will be marked as "Purchased."

We are aware that this isn't a perfect system for people who are keeping an eye out for DLC each Thursday and we're working to make sure the timing of both updates happen closer together. That being said, this is only really an issue once a week within a very short window of time.

First off, chill out. I'm glad that you love Rock Band so much, and that you're so stoked to play the new tracks, but dial it down a notch or two.

As I've already told several other posters today (and every other Thursday) we have no control over when Sony updates their store. We have no control over when Microsoft updates their store either. We submit, we sit, and we wait. And when they are out we rejoice, and we play.

If we're looped in on anything being out of the ordinary (the two week maintenance of the PSN several months ago, for example) we'll let you know what we know. Getting trollish and posting with the caps lock on isn't going to make anything happen and faster.

HMX updates the Music Store in game.
Sony updates the PS Store (out of game).

Sony undoubtedly has had the tracks for a few days now, so HMX likely updates the store around the time that Sony usually updates their store. But as you can tell, they dont always update at a consistent time, so they won't be up in both places at the exact same time.

Both places? You sound like you don't own a PS3, or at least have never purchased songs from the in-game store on one. You don't download the song from the HMX servers or anything. You still download the song from the PS store, regardless of if you're doing it from the XMB or the game. It's actually rather annoying to download anything on the PS3 version of RB from the in-game store because everything has to be done one at a time, and you have to wait for the game to access the PS store each freaking time.

I'd like to know the answer to jrinck's question as well.

That explanation only had to do with why the songs would "show up" in the store, but say "purchased." The explanation was that HMX thought the songs would be released on PSN by that time, but since they weren't we get the "purchased" until they're released.

I think we PS3 owners are just curious as to why we can always actually purchase the songs through the in-game store earlier (sometimes much earlier) than through the PSN store, since both stores are pulling the files from the same place. It's weird. I don't think you guys know why either.
