Hey Harmonix folks,

Anyone coming from Harmonix to UMASS this Wednesday for the bus stop? We're about 2 hrs from HQ!

I would be going since I live 30 minutes away from umass, but since i'm in school in new hampshire I won't be able to make it

I hope they stay open until 6 and not pack up early either. I am scrambling to find sitters for my daughters so I can swing by and rock out for a few. UMASS isn't exactly a great place for a 2 year old and 5 month old!

Although my 2 year old does rock out on her plastic guitar with me to GHII. (Gotta start 'em early)

Its looking like I won't make it there until late. :(

I'm going to try to head up for 11, but with the potential zoo that is UMASS, I'm actually worried about the crowds... who knows.

Unless the Red Sox are on stage playing a song, I don't think it will be a big deal...

The area that it seems to be in is next to the book store, right? I havn't been there for years, but the street looks like it is the one heading up to the garage? Any UMASS'ers confirm where Liberty Lawn is?

(I already checked the map, but you know how innacurate they can be)

I'm going to be very sad if I don't make it in time. I almost want the swag more than to play the game!

My friend/UMASS alum says she assumes it's the lawn in front of the campus center. She said to park in the campus center garage and it's a short walk... although hopefully someone who actually goes there will post.

I just googled the Flint lab and it is 90 campus center way and the hotel at the campus center is 1 campus center way, so that would make sense to be in front of the campus center.

Wow, I just said campus center way too many times. :o

"Liberty lawn" is most likely a mistake...however the "library lawn" is where a lot of activities take place...(I go there and have never heard of liberty lawn).

Is the library lawn near the campus center?

Is the library lawn near the campus center?

Closer to the student union, which is next to the campus center. I'm not exactly sure if there is one patch of grass officially known as the library lawn or if that's just what they call the whole area there around the library, which could include the lawn closer to the campus center.

I'm sure if you showed up at the student union the bus would be in sight somewhere around there.

So is my best bet for public parking the campus center garage?

Yeah. Not sure if it's the cheapest (never had to park there), but definitely the closest.

I doubt they'll drive the 2+ hours to Amherst.

I'm hitting up the Prudential stop, which is about a 10 minute walk from where i live.

So now that it's the LIBRARY Lawn, is the Campus Center still the best public parking for me to use?

Awesome. What time are you going?

Not sure...depends on what time I wake up, how busy it looks, whether it's raining...I'm a grad student with nothing better to do :p

I'll definitely go check the bus out but I'm not sure if I actually want to play it yet...don't want to ruin the surprise.

I just got a call from my brother about 30 minutes ago. They are there already. If you see a tall lanky fellow named Nick, give em Hell. He's my little brother. He is a Jazz purist at UMASS, but I am slowly converting him. ;)

I just stopped over there about 30 minutes ago and they were still setting up the bus but people were playing out of the side of one of the smaller vans. I didn't play it but it looks incredible. The graphics and animations are a whole level above GH3 for sure.

I might go back later when the bus is set up and play, but I'm not sure if I want to yet. There was only a small crowd around the van when I was there, I probably could have played if I stayed a few more minutes.

I just got back. I was there at about 11:20 and like admanimal said, people were playing out of the side of a van because the tractor trailer got stuck in the mud. Considering I went from work, I settled for playing out of the van. I got to sing on TOM SAWYER (which we passed after the 3rd or 4th time because some of the guys were overzealous about their guitar and drum abilities). I also got to play medium DRUMS on PARANOID. The drums RULE. I cannot wait to have these at home.

I didn't play the guitar but the guy who played next to me let me strum a few notes and I have to say that I might MISS THE CLICK on the strum bar... but we'll see. Overall, though, THE GAME FRIGGIN' RULED. I CANNOT WAIT TO HAVE THIS AT HOME!!!!

Even though the stage wasn't set up and because I was the only non-student there and drove from a bit away, the guy gave me a shirt and a hat (and they were passing out bumper stickers). NICE!!!!!!!!

Think of it this way, if you get the job, it will be easier to afford ROCK BAND!

Well, my babystiter just cancelled on me a couple minute ago so no rock band for me today.

I was at least hoping for a hat or shirt or something. (I'll even take a pick at this point). Hopefully my brother can get me something when he goes. I guess I will have to convince myself it just wasn't meant to be.:(

Yeah...I was hoping they would still have the instruments over by the vans or somewhere that I could just take a closer look at them, but the only way to get your hands on them was to play.

Haha no I just wanted to wait. I could have played in private in the back of the bus. They have 3 or 4 TVs back there too besides the main stage.

How many people were there? I'm going to the one at the Prudential tomorrow. Do they have a lot of setups to play too?

Well I don't think you should use Amherst as a measure of how many people will be at a stop in Boston, but there weren't too many people there at any given time. If you were willing to stick around for like 20 minutes you could play.

While they are setting up the main bus they have one TV set up in a smaller van that people can play on. Once the bus is set up they have the main stage and then 3 or 4 setups in the back of the bus.
