Guitar Hero III release date is Oct 28 - SUNDAY??

Perhaps someone can explain why everyone has the Guitar Hero 3 release date as this Sunday? I've never heard of a video game coming out on a Sunday.

Me too, because I'm def thinking of going to Best Buy on Sunday and buying it, then returning the one I ordered from Amazon to Best Buy. Ultimate guarentee for GHIII.

you might want to preorder it (even though its kind of late). its 5 extra dollars, but it guarantees you it on Sunday

I did preorder from amazon......Means I'm not getting it til thurs latest. So I was going to go to Best Buy on Sunday and buy it. Play that one and keep it until I get the one I ordered from amazon, and return the unopened one from amazon to Best Buy.

Only problem is is I don't know if they would know its not the same one, I'm pretty sure tho its the same SKU so it shouldn't be a prob. If not I'll sell it to my other friend.

So my gamestop is saying they may not do a midnight launch for GH3. After finding out I called and they said "there may not be enough pre-orders". I asked him if it's final or what. "You'll have to ask the manager he'll be in tomarrow". I have jury duty tomarrow so that's out but I made it clear that if they aren't doing a midnight release I'm cancelling my preorder with them and taking it to the much busier gamestop half a mile down the road. That or they can give it to me at 9pm on saturday when they close.

Exactly. This is the first game I've bought that I'm attending a midnight release for. I'm not dragging my ass up at 10am on a Sunday to pick it up. I'm much more awake at 12 midnight on Saturday than early Sunday morning.

That and Rock Band comes out on Black Friday. Depending on how things go this weekend, I'll either wait until Black Friday to buy Rock Band from CircuitCity.com and pick it up from the store later in the day after the crowds die down, or I'll just pre-order it from Circuit City and wait for them to ship it. I'm hoping I can buy GHIII online before the stores open Sunday, I would just pre-order it, but I'm already going to be out for work that day, so I'd rather pick it up and not wait until later in the week to get it in the mail.

From a Canadian standpoint, I asked EBGames what they are doing for the Sunday release. The guy said they will get the shipment on Friday to have available for either Friday or Saturday, if they get permission to sell early. For some reason, and I'm sure it's not true, but he mentioned not being able to sell it on Sunday (?!?), so it's either Friday, Saturday, or Monday.

I'm in no rush either way, but there's a good chance that canadians might get it on Friday or Saturday. This is probably different for every store you visit, so check your local shop to figure out their plans.

Rock Band no longer comes out Black Friday, but rather that Tuesday on the 20th.

Just FYI, I emailed Gamestop to get the delivery date for online preorders for GHIII in case I need to have it shipped to my house (if it showed up on Saturday) instead of at work, and just received this response:


Guitar Hero III orders will be shipped out on Friday so that they may
arrive on the next business day for overnight orders; they should then
arrive on Monday, 10/29.

So you'll have to wait an extra day if, like me, you ordered online. However, UPS and FedEx both deliver on Saturday in my area, so if it ships Friday there's a chance it'll show up Saturday.

My wal mart has had GH3 in for a week... i already talked to the people and they say they will have it out sunday morning or maybe saturday night :D:D
