Doesn't look like most people are. I was considering buying it, even though I'm not a big fan. The music's good enough, but the low ratings (and drum difficulties, my main instrument) make me think it's just not fun. If you got the album, do you regret it? Do you wish you had only a gotten a few songs? I definitely want Debaser, but what about the others?

I think if you like the Pixies you are happy and if you don't then you're not. That's pretty much how all the DLC goes. I'm sure a lot of people just bought some songs to try em out and weren't happy but if you are considering buying some songs just ask yourself if you like the song outside of rock band.

Simple really, I like the album but I knew I wouldn't want to play all of the songs, so I just got the ones I wanted - which was most of them, it turns out. Since I like the songs, and the game lets me play along with them, I'm happy with my decision. How difficult the sections are is just about the last thing on my mind.

Here are the top 5 reasons why I buy DLC:

1) Because I like the song.
2) Because I like the song.
3) Because I like the song.
4) Because I like the song.
5) Because I think it'll be particularly more interesting to play than another song. Which is more often or not due to the fact that ... yup, I like the song.

I wouldn't rule out getting a song just because it has a particularly unique or interesting drum beat, but it's so low on my list of priorities. I want to play along with songs I like, and I like these songs!

I'm absolutly happy. I'm not the biggest Pixies fan (although I really like them) but those songs are just awesome to play. Thanks again HMX!

It helps being a fan of the Pixies, so ya I am happy with it.

The thing that surprised me is how much more I connect with that album after playing it in RB. I know, that's the point, to connect with the music. But, it hasn't really happened that way with other groups I like. Ya, it's cool to play along, but there's something about Doolittle that it's all I play atm. Normally, I'll play the new tracks one time and then go back to my usual rotation of songs I'm working on.

Of course, it's all about personal preference and this one does it for me.

I'm gonna be honest, I was really pumped for the album but it's not as great as I thought it'd be. I think a big part of it is since the songs are so short, by the time I'm done playing a song it doesn't even sink in. Maybe if they gave us a damn setlist editor...

yeah, i'm very happy. i can see why guitarists and singers are a bit underwhelmed by their charts in a lot of the songs, but as a drummer i have minimal complaints about the charts/gameplay and i have been loving the album for over 10 years now...
perhaps a more challenging album is in the works since priest, the cars, and the pixies were fairly easy overall?

I am still on the fence about whether or not to get a few songs or the whole album. I'm a huge Pixies fan, but the charts for a lot of songs don't look like I'd enjoy them much. For example, in the main setlist I rarely play "Wave Of Mutilation" because it is fairly repetitive.

I can definitely dissociate songs I like to listen to from those I like to play to. This is a case where they are songs I like with charts that aren't as much fun.

Overall, yeah, though there were a few disappointments in the pack that just ended up not being as fun to play as I thought they would be. It's probably my least favorite out of the three albums to play, but at the same time, there's at least ten songs on it that I do enjoy playing, which is one more than either the Judas Priest or Cars album... go figure. *shrug* Contradictions all over the place.

Not a big Pixies fan, so I have to say the songs just don't excite me. I've played through them once on drums and guitar and don't see myself playing them again any time soon.

I'm a DLC whore, so I purchased it anyway to maintain a complete collection, but I think you really have to be into the Pixies to appreciate the album.

Most of the songs are awesome on guitar. I didn't spend a lot of time putting reviews on that site, but IMO "Monkey Gone to Heaven" is one of the five best songs released as DLC for Rock Band. Oh, and it's got "Here comes your Man", "La La Love You", "Crackity Jones", "Mr Grieves"... it's a great album for a solo player experience on guitar and vocals, pretty boring on drums and base.

The only song on the album I would call a miss is "Silver". The only reason I dislike that song is because I can't exclude it from the playlist for band world tour. I think it's a decent song on lead guitar - and really only for solo players.

I'm not a big Pixies fan by any means but I have enjoyed playing the songs so far. It seems like everytime I play them they really grow on me too. Mark me down as being happy with them :D

I love the Pixies and I'm very happy with the album. The only thing I'll say against it is that Silver is hideously easy on Drums. I mean REALLY REALLY easy. And dull. But that's the way the song is written, it couldn't have been charted any other way.

Oh I do actually agree about the short songs. Wish you could program them all in in advance and then just play them back to back, rather than stopping between songs on Solo. I also wish you could sort the songs by Artist in solo mode, as that would make it easier to play them all one after the other. That was a weird oversight at the programming stage. You can do it in Quickplay, and Band modes, but not Solo Tour.

My favorite DLC pack to date. Rock Band 2 will bring us a playlist editor so that we can play through the short songs without jumping back to the main menu.

Doesn't look like most people are. That's a very small sample size... the song with the largest number of votes (Debaser) only got 24.

Since you asked the question, YES. I am very happy with Doolittle. The only thing I am unhappy about is I am moving soon and I am not getting to play it nearly enough as a result :(.

[EDIT] Whoever said it is boring on drums... say what? I think the drums are actually the most fun instrument in the pack, or maybe 1A to vocals being #1. I am on T8 Expert and I found several of the songs to be a nice challenge, without the whole disc proving too frustrating.

I'm really happy. Funny thing is that my favorites (so far) are the ones that nobody talks about. I'm new to the pixes so I can't really name them.

I quite like the Pixies although I'm not rabid about them. I do own three of their albums and have listened to them on and off for about 17 years.

Too many short songs that I didn't think would be all that fun to play in the game, coupled with not being all that excited about some of the actual songs and the steep price tag.

I figured it would be easier to pick the best three or four and I'm still down for $10 less than picking up a lot of stuff I wouldn't want to play much.

Plus, less DLC means less problems with song list lag!

HAPPY!

Especially with vocals - this pack has some of the best songs on vocals in the game. (If only they'd fix There Goes My Gun!)

The Pixies are grunge? When did this happen? Oh, after grunge happened and fans wanted to lump in some influences... :p

If that's my post you're referring to, you're misquoting me! I only mentioned one song as being dull on drums: Silver. And it is. There's no getting away from it. But, like I said, that's down to the song, it's not because it's been charted badly. There is just one drum beat every 5 seconds or so until the end. Really dull song on drums.

But the rest of the album (as I said) is great! And Silver is probably fine for everyone other than the drummer. Small price to pay for a classic, quality album. :)

Honestly, there's like 3 songs on Dolittle I would actually play on a regular rotation. Still, I don't regret buying the album. My sister absolutely LOVES Pixies, so this release was clearly meant for her!

I've committed a cardinal sin by referring to Pixies as "the Pixies" (but note that I never used "The Pixies" except at the start of a sentence). I know better and I apologize profusely. ;)

I'm quite happy with my purchase. You only need to like 9 out of the 14 tracks to justify buying it, so if you don't like four or five tracks, just say that they were the free ones. That's how I did it, anyway.

My only knowledge of Pixes music before buying this album on Rock Band was "Wave of Mutilation", which I liked well enough. I was quite surprised at how much fun the album was to play through. I played through it all once on expert drums, guitar, and vocals, and when all was said and done, it was the vocals that really sold me. So much fun to sing. And plus...this is good music. So count me as a yes!

The only thing that makes me sad about getting the Pixies DLC is the fact that not enough others got it :( But that's not a problem with the DLC.

I'd never heard of the Pixies before this, but I ended up getting the album and loving almost every song on it. Of course, now I'm going to be low on money for the Offspring 6-pack and the July 15th Who 12-pack.

I'm also a drummer, and while I wouldn't say these are my favorite songs to play, they are ridiculously fun. I do think the album is a little on the easy side, but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable.

I was on the fence about buying the album, but I listened to it a few times before the release and it grew on me, like some sort of lyrical fungus.

Bought it. Love it. Have played it from start to finish more than a handful of times. I've played it way more than the Cars and Judas Priest.

Very happy.

If you play with 4 people and your singer knows the songs its fantastic. The songs are fun to play and thats all that matters.

Yep. Love it. And this is exactly what I love most about their dlc program. They can get away with catering to highly specific tastes. I love seeing their more off-the-wall choices pop up. Save the obvious picks for the sequels and main setlists.

i like this album, i never heard any pixies before i got this, but i like these songs, and i do mainly vocals, and these songs are great for vocals with many varied styles of singing and cool lyrics. i even gold starred like 6 songs from this album, only time i did that before was with blitzkrieg bop, but all the songs on the album arent that easy, a few of the songs i only get 3 or 4 stars in expert, so it isnt too easy as whole.

me like. get the whole album. many people may not agree but i think this is a concept album, if you listen to the whole thing through, there seems to be a theme running throughout. even though the lyrics are very strange and non-sensical, they kind of paint a picture with words and are very poetic.

I wasn't a big Pixies fan but there were enough songs on Doolittle that I liked to warrant getting the whole album. I have to say that not only was I NOT disappointed I was extremely surprised. All of the drum charts (except Silver) were a lot funner than I was expecting. IMO the GS cut-off is a little high on most of them but that doesn't detract from how much fun they were.

Yeah, I like playing the songs. I'm not so big on listening to them, but I'll give that time. I understand that it grows on you.
