Then there is the art maker stuff. A lot of the clothes will let you throw on a band logo once you've bought them, like leather jackets or blank t-shirts. We wanted to get this in as many places as possible, to really give some expression to players.

Hurrah! My favorite aspect of, well, nearly any game -- character creation and customization. I love the approach here, that it's about your personality first and wardrobe second, and that it's not all about "unlocking" every piece of unusually expensive clothing in the game.

It's mentioned that you can throw a band logo onto the shirts. Is this possible even in Solo World Tour? Do you get to assemble an actual band (albeit a band of NPCs, which is fine) when solo, designing their characters and outfits?

Sure as hell looks like you to me Ibanez. And notice the instrument "you" are playing...

As for not being surprised if you can make a band for solo play, well, I was surprised by NOT being able to play a band career online... I take no chances these days, so hey, while we have devs fluttering around the board, I figured it couldn't hurt to ask for confirmation. It won't make or break my buy, I already dropped the full price on preorder.

It'd be great to play alongside 3 characters you design yourself for a band you design yourself. Sure, the others are all AI players and not humans, but it customizes your experience, makes it feel like YOUR band and not just You And Three Random Whoevers. (Hm. That may be a good band name, actually.)

i was honestly not expecting a lot of customization for character creation, but of course hmx knows most gamers love that stuff and decided to make it way more in depth than any of us could have imagined. on a side note, if there is an award for coolest loading screens in a video game, RB is gonna win hands down!

I am a complete Create-a-Character addict. I play City of Heroes despite not being the most popular MMORPG around specifically because I can design any damn character I want rather than being Dude In The Yellow Shoulderpads That Looks Like All The Other Dudes In Yellow Shoulderpads. I played wrestling games for three years, hand-crafting an entire roster of fictional characters, and only gave up because I got sick of having to remake them year after year.

I've tweaked the hell out of my Karaoke Revolution avatar, I spent more time adjusting my World Series of Poker character than I did playing the game (it sucked), and I bought MySims just because I wanted to make a painfully adorable little girl to run around building stuff for people. And then I found out I could CHANGE their outfits and went nuts doing that.

Maybe I didn't play with enough barbies as a little boy (???) but I am completely stoked for the Rock Band character editor. Now, if a dev can confirm that I can make a four man band even for solo play, I will reach endorphin levels that will make my brain a controlled substance.

Kick assery, I spend at least an hour a day on rinabow changing my elite. I loved oblivion but never got far because i would make a new char every outher day...COH and COV i never got far b/c i kept creating other char lol....my brain might also become a controlled substance...hooray endorphins
