Can we get an official annoucement on the compatibility of the les paul guitar controller and RB2? If I have missed this somewhere in the numerous annoucement disscussion threads I apologize.

I found this on the AP Article about RB2. It's not exact, but I think it's what you are looking for:
All prior versions of "Rock Band" instruments, as well as many from the competing "Guitar Hero" franchise, will also be compatible with "Rock Band 2."

Actually, I'd suggest that it doesn't. At least not on the face of it. The key word there is "most". My guess is that if you're on a system where the Les Paul works with Rock Band, you'll be all set. If not, I wouldn't be expecting a change since that was always out of Harmonix's hand.

Very true, I have a 360 and the les pauls work flawlessly so I dont think that there should should be a compatibility problem seeing as how the interface seems to be nearly idenitcal.
An official statment from HMX regarding this issue would be great however.

On a semi-unrelated note, the rock band guitar works with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Could be a sign of good things to come. Might not. Who knows.

The reports of that have been decidedly inconclusive...

I could get proof if you really wanted me to. You would have to give me time to hook my console up to my TV, take video, compress the video for youtube, and then upload it though.
Or you could just take my word for it because I really don't feel like doing all of that tonight. It was for the 360 so your PS3 mileage may vary.
