1.In the songs sticky up top it is mentioned that 13 more Grateful Dead songs are going to be downloadable, what are they? I am hoping for St. Stephen.

2.How often can we honestly expect DLC? I could have swore I read something about there being "1000's" of songs for DLC.
3.Can the ingame vocals be turned off when using the mic? I saw a video online and this was very distracting.
4.Any plans for any of the following artists?
John Mayer/John Mayer Trio
Clutch
Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young
Coldplay
Incubus
Any classic Blues artists/songs
Dave Matthews Band
Pink Floyd

In answer to these questions:
Harmonix is claiming that DLC will be coming on a weekly basis. They've confirmed that some of the songs are already finished and ready to go.
Yes, the original vocal tracks can be turned down/off entirely if that's the way you swing.

Hello, and thanks for reading the stickies before your first post. To answer your questions:
1. - No one knows just yet.
2. - Interviews have stated that they would like to do some sort of DLC release every week (either an album, song, or package every week) The DLC concept is still a bit undefined so we don't know this for 100% certain.
3. - The vocal tracks are adjustable in volume
4. - Nothing specific announced yet for any of those artists and bands. But there are still many songs unannounced and DLC will only expand this library further.

I'll try my best:
1- Not sure if all songs have been confirmed, but I found this: "Among the songs available will be the classic Dead tracks “Truckin’,” “Uncle John’s Band,” “Touch of Grey,” “Sugar Magnolia,” and “Casey Jones.”

2-I believe they are still saying DLC will be released once a week. How MUCH is the real question!!
3-I believe so. Should be like Karaoke Revolution as far as vocals are concerned.
4-who knows.....
pls correct if I gave any wrong info...:o

Thanks for the replies. I have reservations about DLC after hearing GH2 was supposed to have more than any game on XBL and well that was BS. And if all this music is going to be DLC, it looks like this would affect future releases unless Rock Band will be the basis and it will just evolve with DLC instead of expansion packs/sequals.

1. According to CNN back in Sept, included will be: Casey Jones, Sugar Magnolia, Touch of Grey, Truckin', and Uncle John's Band and 13 others. I wouldn't be surprise if St. Stephen showed up. Probably most of the 'greatest hits' stuff.
2. Supposedly every week in 2007, then regularly in 08 - i'd say it depends on how successful the DLC is in 07 and how well the game sells overall.
3. Yes, certainly - there's a volume slider for it. I, too, find it annoying.
4. I hope none of those bands are included over someone who actually, you know, rocks, but if we'd heard anything it would be posted. I can imagine Incubus just because they had GHII's DLC, but no. i'd love to have some old blues songs, but they'd all have to be covers and I'm sure the masters - if they ever existed in the first place - are lost.

Are you implying that Pink Floyd does not in fact, ROCK???

They are a great band, but, no, not a whole lot of rocking going on generally. That said, I was referring mainly to the John Mayer/Coldplay/Incubus stuff. I think Floyd would be fun - some of the epic stuff on Meddle would be wild.

Hey people knock John Mayer all the time but he is the real deal and especially his JOhn Mayer Trio. The guy can play the **** out of a guitar.

Yeah I must say Mayer is a pretty good guitarist, he probably gets heat for being a Top 40, pop'ish kind of artist but I respect his skills on the strings. I probably wouldn't put him in the game as a main-lister but I could understand how he could make it into DLC. His solos are usually slow but you can feel the blues.
A poor man's SRV maybe?

He can play the instrument fine, but you can find a non-creative flashy-guitar blues-rock playin' dude in every town in the US. Being technically proficient doesn't change the fact that the songs blow. :)

Haha quite true, let's hope he puts that talent to good use in the future. He's got time.

Well that is where our difference of opinions hit the proverbial fork-in-the-road.
