****** Alert. There are 100+ theads about this. It is not an exclusive, it's just coming to 360 a week or two earlier (So says Sean) in order to fix some of the Ps3 bugs. That way we get to have voice chat and all that jazz instead of it not being ready.

I'm not waiting for anything. It's an issue of respect here. Clearly, HMX no longer cares about PS3 users or Sony users who supported them through Frequency, Amplitude, and the original GH series... and so I'm not going to support them. It's not an issue of time. It's a slap in the face to the fans that have supported them for so long. They're sellouts.

Do you want in game voice chat or not? Do you want the scrolling issue? I thought not. It's been stated by many different companies that it's much harder to program for the PS3 because of the more advanced hardware.

Im sorry I have no sympathy. I had to over 6 months to get it on the 360 here in the UK, and for most of Europe/Aus/NZ/Asia too the game hasnt even released yet. Yet theres people here who are complaining about the delay between 360, and PS3. You dont even know how long it is yet, at the most it will be 3 months, but I doubt it will even be that much. You are just going to have to wait the month or so. Atleast you will still get DLC for RB1 (and for RB2 when its released) while you wait and perhaps a more polished version of the game.
The people I do feel sorry for are the rest of the world who still dont have Rock Band 1 - aswell as PS3 owners in UK,France and Germany as its released for 360 only here for the time being.

1. Most games sell about twice as well on 360 as on PS3.
2. MS probably gave HMX an incredible amount of money to get a two-month exclusive going.
3. You'll still get it by the end of the year, and all DLC works on both games, so it's not like you'll suddenly stop having new songs to play.

I'm trying to get this straight: rather than wait an undetermined amount of time for PS3 Rock Band 2 (that will use ALL your mentioned DLC), you'd rather wait 2 months anyway for the release of Guitar Hero: World Tour?
Alright then. Have fun!

Oh come on now! Seriously, they're a company trying to survive and make great games. Do you know what makes great games? Money, and who is dolling out the money like there is no tommorrow? I'll give you a hint, it's not Sony.
Why are you complaining about waiting, at most, a couple of months. You should be praising the decision to throw more development time into the game. And MGS4 suffered from quite a few delays prior to it's release due to the team falling behind schedule.

Even though this might be pretty douchebag-ish, it still doesn't come close to Activision's ******ry. After all, which company buys out a franchise, and then accuses the original makers as "imitators" and then claims that they're releasing the "First Full Band Game?"
Quotes- Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
so PS3 is harder do develop for then the 360, so you rather have product earlier, then not has good the 360 version? PS3 version of GTA4 is why GTA4 was delayed. and the reason the 360 version didn't come out earlier is because Sony made at deal so it be a same day launch.

I'm Canadian too. The difference with the delays for countries is that it is a product development issue. They had shortages in which they needed to deal with. Again, this isn't about time. I don't care that I have to wait longer for World Tour. At least Activision didn't **** on fans that have supported them for 8 years.

They don't owe anyone anything. They are in the business of making money. Yeah, as someone who has all DLC, sometimes I think how uncool it is when they drop a price on DL'ing a song, but I still chose to buy the song when I did. I could not have, just as you can not buy RB2 because you have to wait a little longer. In the end, their bottom line will not be affected all that much. If they felt it would be, they wouldn't be doing it. They are in the business of making money while providing an enjoyable product. Not to provide the *** for whiny babies to feed off of.

You obviously have not purchased GH:A. It has like 40 songs on it for the same price of 60 dollars. Don't go acting like Activision is not just in it to make a buck. That is exactly what and all they care about.
Yes, I did buy GH:A knowing it was overpriced. I had a BB gift card that was buring a hole in my wallet, so I just did it. It is enjoyable enough, but with such a small tracklist, one would think they would not charge the same price. But they did. Oh well. I knew it going in and don't fool myself into trying to think companies are not just in their business to make a buck.

I also remember an interview with Kotick (just after the Activision/Vivendi Merger as he was taking the helm) and when he was asked what the most overrated game from the holiday season was - he said rock band. Funny that he saw it as overrated yet a few months down the line they are trying to mimic it.

Yeah that was my point - those in the US are the luckiest as you atleast know you will see it this year. For EU an EA rep says the 360 version comes out in September but until i hear it from HMX officially I wont believe it. As for PS3 users over here who were shafted from a UK release of Rock Band 1 a month ago by Microsofts EU launch Exclusitivity they dont even know when they will get RB1 never mind RB2.

I doubt they will release RB2 for PS3 after GH:WT comes out. They have to keep within the holiday shopping season. Stop complaining about it. I can't believe I hear people complain without actually reading the article first. Read the article and be happy we have news now. If you need a reason to feel better about leaving all your DLC behind and time spent playing then go ahead.

So what you're telling us is that you are actually going to sit on your hands when the PS3 RB2 comes out, in favor of waiting for the PS3 GHWT that still won't have been released?
It's clear you don't relish the thought of the three-week delay, and you're angry because you are essentially powerless to do anything about it.
But when it's released, you will be able to walk into the store and buy it, before GHWT is available.
Will you be able to resist the temptation?
I doubt that someone who has purchased all of the DLC will have the willpower to sit back and wait like that.
I know I wouldn't be able to wait.

We can't lose dynasty3 he has been the cornerstone of everything that HMX has ever done. He has purchased about 4 games by them and should probably own about half the company right. All of these whiners have a vested intrest in the company and without the few whiners here how will HMX sale millions of units. For it is the vocal minority that is the forums that hold all the cards.

I am surprised this thread didn't get locked, but since the first post was an hour ago I figured I would write something in response. HMX is thanking you but putting out an upgrade to a game you purchased and supported. So what, it comes out for 360 first, you are still going to get the game. And hey, you know all those songs you bought, they will still work with RB2!
That means when it does come out, you will have well over 200 songs to play instead of just 80 for GH:WT.
You know, that is like RockStar games, I bought every game they put out, even the table tennis game (lots of fun), but I didn't get pissed off when Bully was not going to be released for the 360, no, I just said "oh well" and waited. But, its obvious you think HMX owes you something for putting out an entertaining game, huh?
Do you feel the same way about movies? Do you get pissed off when a DVD comes out with extra footage? The bastards should have included the full movie in the Theatre, not made you wait! Anyway, you and everyone else *****ing and bellyaching are over reacting. If what you are worried about is the worse thing you have to worry about you should at least be thankful for that at least.

Wow, you really need to bone up on your research... MGS4 was originally supposed to be released along with the original launch of the PS3 in November of 2006... only took them a year and a half to get it right.
Sorry, but Harmonix makes a better game, through and through. I will wait 2 days, 2 weeks, 2 months, etc. as long as it's equal to or greater than the original Rock Band.

Regardless of the reason for the delay, the end result is the PS3 version is going to get more dev time, which will result in a better, more polished game play experience. What's more disrespectful, rushing out a buggy PS3 version on the same day as the 360 one, or (possibly, although unconfirmed) milk MS for some payola and take the time to get the PS3 version right?
KitZune
06-30-2008, 04:10 PM
For the record, the PS3 is harder to develop for. And when porting a multi-plat game you gotta worry about core loads and such. It's not a HUGE deal.. but I mean, if microsoft was waving money in my face to make us delay the PS3 version of "MY" game, I'd take it and put the extra dev time in there. *Shrug* Make money and still produce the game on time.
I just wonder if Microsoft paid to have it rushed forward. Regardless, it doesn't much matter. There will still be DLC coming out, so I'll be happy
And when RB2 comes around, I'll be having lots and lots of fun.
And you'll be waiting for GH4.

Whoa whoa whoa there, Turbo. What makes you think that those of us that play on XBox 360 didn't play Frequency and Amplitude and the original GH series on PS2?
You know, the corporations that make consoles aren't a political party, or a nationality, or a cause. They are just companies that make game consoles.

Do you avoid buying blu-rays from all the studios who "sold-out" to Sony to help them win the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray war? I would guess not considering you benefited from that victory.
Atleast you only have to wait for a bit for the game and you get to enjoy ALL the DLC in the meantime and play all your current DLC. Those HD-DVD supporters get to collect copies of Transformers from the HD-DVD bins :P.
