Both, if money holds out.

Both. I have an Xplorer guitar, and a USB mike is a USB mike, and I don't care about drumming. So why not get the best of both worlds? Why does everything have to be an Internet Hate Machine Nerd Forum War about whose console / music game system is the best? Just to make someone feel psychologically reassured that they spent lots of money on the "good" one? Nuts to that.

In before threadlock, too.

You really need to hang out and see about compatability.

If all instruments are compatable, i say hang loose, and go for both.

Leaning toward RB2, but I need to see the set lists for both, not just rumors. I am hoping RB2 at a minimum includes Kings of Leon and Interpol, then I don't even need to consider GHWT.

Both. But GH4 has to have great reviews.

id like to get both as well...if not, which ever one the bands i enjoy supports.

The Who is a big step....rumors of AC/DC is another 1/2 step....if RB2 gets zep, floyd or beatles...then i will have only 1 choice in september..RB2

all about the DLC for me.

How about: wait and see which one has better tracks before committing to one today.

RB2, given that I have 132 songs all ready to play with it. The only reason I would get World Tour is to transfer my nephews' band's music into a game, but with no vocals, that's pointless.

Both, fo sho.

Chances are I obviously won't have the money for both straight up. I'll definitely be buying RB2 first (come September if it makes that date), and then either ask my family to chip in for the GHWO set for Christmas, or I'll buy it after the holidays.

When RB2 has transferable tracks and/or an already massive available download store? Psh, yeah right. If I was forced to choose only one, I'd definitely choose Rock Band 2.

I'll probably be buying both, and here are the reasons why:

GH:WT
Features a game mode which allows a band to record their own songs, and that is bad ass.
Features a Battle of the Bands mode which allows two bands to compete for the highest score.
Rumors of three TooL songs, and I freaking love TooL

Rock Band 2
I already have about 150 songs, and that's a lot of diversity which I love.
Rumors say Rock Band 2 might have everything GH:WT will have and more.
TooL and Led Zeppelin are both rumored to be in Rock Band 2, and yet again, I freaking love TooL, and I love Led Zeppelin, too.
And, on top of that, Harmonix claimed to try to set everything in Rock Band 2 more towards what us users prefer.

the intelligent choice is rockband 2. support a company that actually cares about us and the medium. the game is clearly more than just a paycheck to the crew at harmonix. i cant say the same about neversoft and activision.

i would pick an inferior game for that... but thats just me. i have every confidence that harmonix will create a MUCH better experience... on the level that we saw with gh3 versus rockband1.

RB2 is a definite buy. In fact, I'll pre-order it as soon as my local Best Buy will let me. :D

GH:WT is a definite maybe. I'll wait to see how it reviews, and more importantly, I want to see some chart videos before I pull the trigger on the purchase.

Having 2 sets of plastic instruments doesn't bother me, I've plenty of storage in the house.

I want to see setlist for both games before I make my choice. I will almost definitely get RB2 if the setlist is good, while GHWT's setlist will really have to "Wow" me for me to buy it.

RB2: Absolutely will buy.

GHWT: Will probably buy also.

If I have to have more than one drumset sitting in my living room to play RB, RB2, and GH4, I will probably only get one. Actually, now that I think about it, will the drumset for RB2 work with the RB1 disc? If not, that's freaking r*tarded and I'll probably pass on both.

Well, I'm definitely getting RB2. Backwards compatable DLC and instruments. So I only have to get the game (and maybe a drumset if it holds out well)

I'm probably going to get GHWT also, although I worry about lack of compatability (and Neversoft's charting). If the price holds I might get the bundle.

I'm mostly just addicted to the band style gameplay, and want more wherever possible (and GHWT's song creation is a pretty awesome idea at this point)

I'll be getting both. I love these games and, really, the war between Rock Band and Guitar Hero benefits we consumers. The more they one up each other in quality, gameplay and overall music choice, the more we win.

RB1 instruments are going to be compatible with RB2, so you wouldn't have another drumset in your house unless 1) you buy the RB2 Bundle (not necessary, but sounds promising) or 2) you buy the GHWT Bundle.

Alls I'm gonna say again is: Guitar Hero What?

Most of the features of RB2 have not revealed yet. This is a better question to be posed after E3.

That being said, I always knew there was no question I'd buy RB2. I doubt I'll buy GH:WT. I'd like to try it out though.

Rock Band 2 for sure.

World Tour for sure.

Both just the disc. Maybe the new GH Guitar if I sell my "less-than-spectacular" Les Paul controller.

But are RB2 instruments going to be compatible with RB1? That's the question...

If they come out with a super improved drum set but it only works for RB2, then I'll either have to have two drum sets sitting around or never play RB1 again.

where ever the big name bands are. GH:WT is rumored to have 3 Tool songs (Parabola, Schism, and Vicarious) plus a set designed by Alex Grey. if they do i'll get both since RB is forward compatible. i don't really need the RB2 drums.

i will get gh4 if they make it more like rock band, but if still like gh3? nope, wouldnt like that, and dont like their way of playing or the aniamations or the raised buttons or, well guess im staying with rock band.

I'd get both since I wanna try out all the songs in each game, but then I fear there is gonna be a big compatibility problem with Guitar Hero. You know how those controllers have extra buttons now? Seems like that is gonna prevent you from using any Rock Band controllers on it, meaning if you want to try out drumming or singing in it, you gotta ship out money for the full package, which is even more expensive than Rock Band for some reason. Another problem to me is the note charts, because Harmonix has always done a really fantastic job most of the time with their charting, ESPECIALLY in Rock Band. The new Guitar Hero games on the other hand, randomly add a lot of extra notes just to ensure a challenge, plus they even go out of the way to add lots of chords in randomly to up the difficulty more, and what counteracts that is the fact that the hit detection for notes got lowered so much, that songs are easier anyways. I would say get Guitar Hero: World Tour so you could use its controllers for Rock Band as well, as that'd be cheaper, although this is complete speculation, I am thinking that they will not be compatible. Remember how the guitar in Rock Band didn't work in Guitar Hero III? Yeah, I think they kinda wanna get back at Harmonix for that little number. I'm gonna stick to Rock Band here, since Guitar Hero games were great back when Harmonix was working on them, but now that new people have stepped in that have little experience making music games, note charts have been a mess, plus while Rock Band had a great balance in all sorts of genres, the latest Guitar Hero games have been sticking only to a select few, being old fashioned rock and roll, metal, blues, and country. While there are a lot of interesting things being planned out for World Tour, the game itself started getting worked on after Rock Band was finally finished, leaving me to believe that they are just trying to add in whatever the first game didn't have, not expecting a sequel, meaning Rock Band 2 could pretty easily be something much better. The custom song feature DOES seem interesting though, but my problem with that goes with a previous concern on note charts, and the fact that I am sure people will intentionally just create songs with the purpose of being ridiculously difficult, rather than going to the music. It still does confuse me why they named it Guitar Hero when you're using more than a guitar. I guess they want people to buy it, due to it's recognizable name.
