Fake cash. You buy "MS Points" either by purchasing a 800 or 1600 point card at a store (that's US$10 or US$20 respectively) or by purchasing them directly through the online store using your credit card.

Problem is, since 400 points = $5, and a song for GH2 = 200 points, you want nice neat increments of 400 if at all possible... and the online purchase method by credit card only buys in 500, 100, 1500, and 2000 point increments. Doesn't divide out well.

It's all in the name of giving more money to Microsoft than you actually need.
