playing with mutilple users on one PS3

Do you literally mean different profiles? Like a PS3 profile Dad and a PS3 profile daughter or do you mean 2 different characters created in Rock Band? If the first then I doubt it, if the second yes you can pick each of your characters and play online with them.

Is correct if what you want are 2 separate PS3 accounts not RB-game profiles.

its the first one because some games save only one file and it goes by the PS3 profile and we have separate screen names as well

Then as far as I'm aware you can't play together. The PS3 only logs onto one account at a time and can't access the other account's data. She'll have to create a new character in Rock Band when you're signed in and play as that one when you play together.
