The Rock Band Supergroup Is apparently going to play a live show at Trafalgar Square
UK, October 24, 2007 - After axing, beating and singing its way to victory yesterday, IGN's Rock Band super group decided it was time to get serious and start rigorously training for the rockstar life. We're not talking getting dirty with groupies and throwing televisions through windows though, but rather brushing up on their fret, drumming and vocal skills in preparation for their big live performance on stage at Trafalgar Square.
Things didn't get off to a good start unfortunately. The group struggled to pick a song they were all happy with, with guitarist Oz Kantar and bass player William Battle both keen to pick a tune that displayed their sweet fret skills while vocalist Glen Boswell desperately wanted to sing something he actually knew the words to. And while the bickering continued drummer Seye Olajide kept playing around with his kit, because "it wasn't at the right height". Percussionists, eh?
They eventually pulled together though and after a handful of unsuccessful runs through OK Go's Here it Goes Again they decided to play something altogether grungier - Nirvana's In Bloom. Indeed, it was the perfect choice for the band, with dirty guitar riffs the two axemen could have fun with, a powerful drum track Seye could have fun with and gritty vocals Glen could shout along to.
"We really needed a song you can rock out to and this is the best song for that," said William. "We're going to turn it right up to 11!", he added, already resorting to rock clich¿s. And as the practice session drew to a close the guys discussed ways to make the crowd go wild, with talking of the guitars being set on fire as they walk off stage (which understandably worried our EA rep) and Seye promising to take of his shirt, adding "I hope there are lots of girls there."
Which only leaves one thing - what are they going to call the band? The suggestion of The IGN Super Group fell on deaf ears and as of yet the intrepid four have yet to come up with a decent stage name. One thing is for certain though - the band is determined that they're going to win. "Of course, we're the best," boomed Oz. "We're going to win this for IGN. The other groups don't even stand a chance."
If you want to support the IGN supergroup make sure you head to London's Trafalgar Square from 3pm tomorrow (October 25) and prepare to scream your lungs out. Rock on!

With their singer boasting to "turn it up to 11," let's hope that 11 is the mute button. :D ;)

Actually, it was the bassist.
But isn't it always the bassist?

I think my band name needs to be In No Way Affiliated With IGN. If IGN != Rock, then !IGN == Rock?
