Black Sabath or Metallica?

I err can't believe you're asking this lol.

Although I do quite like humming the riff of Iron Man, I am a HUGE Metallica fan. To choose between One and Enter Sandman, two of the best songs ever for me, would be a pain. Whiskey in the Jar is cheesy but bloody brilliant.

and to compare these bands is absurd. one of them practically invented the genre 10 years earlier, and the other was a major influence on a new genre in which the former practically created. two different styles of metal that shouldn't even be mentioned together

but my vote will always go to black sabbath

I agree they are actually different genres. One hard rock, one metal. More so they have a totally different feel.

If I had to choose, it would be sabbath.

kudos to that initial responder. he hit the nail on the head. sabbath ftw but they're two different styles. one is the originator of heavy metal while the other is thrash metal, which they were part of the origination but the originators (metallica)

i feel like metallica is mostly about lars' drumming if i had to pick a piece of the music which stands out the most while sabbath is motivated by iommi's riffs?

I'd pick Metallica.. I haven't really gotten into Sabbath until just recently, but I've been a Metallica fan for so long.

Sabbath is the master and the better band IMO... but I love Metallica too

Older sabbath and old Metallica are good.I would pick older sabbath over newer Metallica.Any sabbath after ozzy left I'm not into........Just my opinion!
