Ok I know that the standard guitar is a fender stratocaster, but in the future will there be other guitars buyable that aren't just by Fender like maybe a B.C. Rich Warlock or Beast? Also this my question applies to in-game to.

In-game Fenders (and any subsidiraries) will be abundandt and fully customizable.

Harmonix hasn't mentioned any guitar controllers besides Strat but the open model structure leaves alot of room for third party guitars.

It seems likely, though I don't have the quote easily accessible. Rest assured that there will be at least as much variety in paint in RB as there was in body style in GH.

You can make a band logo, not sure if you can put it on the guitar or not.

Is that just for like the colors, the graphics and logos, and inlays. Or will you be able to change it from a maple neck to a rosewood neck?

Not sure. Harmonix has been very in-depth thus far. Just gotta wait and see.

I was at Gamestop yesterday, and we got to talking about how the guitar works. One of the employees said that the guitar will (or at least should) work with Guitar Hero 3 as well as Rock Band. Is there anyone here that can either confirm or deny this? The answer to this question will determine whether I get Guitar Hero 3 for the PS2 or the PS3. I don't want to buy a brand new GH guitar, which would lean me to buying the PS2 version. However since Rock band for PS3 is a definite buy for me, I'd love to get GH3 on the PS3 for the online play. Any insight, regardless of the answer would be greatly appreciated.

I was at Gamestop yesterday, and we got to talking about how the guitar works. One of the employees said that the guitar will (or at least should) work with Guitar Hero 3 as well as Rock Band. Since Rock Band is using an open guitar controller standard, the GH 3 controller should work on it, unless Red Octane did something weird to the Les Paul to make it defy whatever the so called standards are. There isn't anything on the PS3 to compare them with, but at least on the 360 Red Octane has said that the GH2 guitars will work on GH3, and The GH3 guitar will work on GH2. Since the Rock Band and GH2 guitars are compatable with each other as well, that has given alot of people hope that the GH3 and RB guitars will work on each other's games. Unfortunatly no one is going to know for sure untill both games get released and someone trys it out.

I figured it was probably still unknown. Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just hold off on getting Guitar Hero 3 until after Rock Band comes out. It shouldn't take long before someone confirms it one way or the other. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will be able to confirm it before the releases. Only time will tell.
