View Full Version : Guitar Hero III questions

I know, those are the Rockband forums, but I'm not registered at the GH3 forums, so I just ask here.

So GH3 is coming out soon, but unfortunately only in the US, Europe has to wait longer (AGAIN), and because I just can't wait any longer I'm thinking about importing it. The only question is, will the game be code free?

Noone of you probably knows this until the release, so another question:

What about the Australian version? I heard that versions comes out on Nov.7 and I know that Australia also uses PAL. Can I play this version on my PAL European console? Or will there be problems with the encoding or something? I don't know how exactly it works with videogames but I know that the European DVD Code is 2 while the Australian code is 4! But maybe that's different for games. I have absolutly no idea.

Well, and last but not least, a question about the game itself:

I played the demo and I noticed, there is no CoOp Multiplayer mode, besides the CoOp Career. Well, I don't think it matters if you choose to play with your friend a song in the career mode or in a seperate multiplayer mode BUT then I took another look at the setlist of the game.

There are a few songs that you probably can't play in CoOp in the CoOp Career Mode, I mean the ones you play as single player encore.
For example:

1. Starting Out Small

* "Slow Ride" ? Foghat
* "Talk Dirty to Me" ? Poison
* "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" ? Pat Benatar
* "Story of My Life" ? Social Distortion
* "Rock and Roll All Nite" ? Kiss (Encore)
* "Sabotage" ? Beastie Boys Co-op Encore)

Here you play Kiss in the single player mode and Beastie Boys in the CoOp mode. But what if there really is no Multiplayer CoOp Mode besides the CoOp Career? Will you be able to play the Kiss song Coop?
Or will there be a Multiplayer Coop Mode in the final game? Or will you be able to still play those single player encore songs in the Coop Career mode anytime later - maybe?

Okay, probably nobody here knows the answers to those questions, but I still thought I try and ask.

Man, I'm around here for months now and I don't want to register at some board just for one post.

I just hoped, since a lot of Rockband fans are also Guitar Hero fans, that someone here has some answers. But actually, I should have known that you don't.

Argh, whatever, I will see in just a few days.

This is the only question I know the answer to, no you can't play the single player encores in coop, and vice versa. However, after they are unlocked you can play all songs in quick play. I'm still unsure about playing the battles in quick play as regular songs, aka DWDTG which would be kick ass to play all the way through even tho I'd prob never pass it haha

Hope that helps.:)

But Quickplay is only for one player, isn't it? Does that mean I can't play e.g. Paint it Black with a friend together Coop?

When you unlock a two player encore, you can play it as a one player qp song. So I imagine that it works vice-versa

I hope you're right. Well, we'll see soon enough.

Thanks anyway! :)
