View Full Version : I've worked out why good bands are not on the setlist

The guys who are deciding these set lists are only choosing bands that appeal to the masses. And yes of course that makes the most business sense; who's going to buy the game if no one has heard of the bands who are playing?
But all these popular bands, are the ones that fans obsess over for 2 months, then get bored and move on the next fad. Of course the bands are good to an extent, but I think the bands that will really get the real fans going are the smaller ones, and who will appreciate the setlists alot more.
Alas, such is the world we live in.
Good luck in choosing crappy bands, you dirty Communist bastards.

I'm trying to decide whether this is serious or not.

Well, look at what GHIII is doing. They listened to the fans, and the much of the setlist is modern hard rock/metal s**t that is difficult and interesting to play but doesn't sound good at all, not to mention most people won't know them (I don't).

lol, Id actually say its the other way around. The setlist for GH3 has more popular and well known artists than any of the previous GH's or Rock Band.
I dont think you can blame them for listening to the fans (after all, isnt that what Harmonix have been doing?).

The setlist for Guitar Hero 3 is filled with many non-underground bands.

Wow, that was... noncommittal. Next time when you speak about underground artists, name some names, will ya?
