Seeing as there's going to be regionalised content, I thought it'd be worthwhile having a seperate section for USA/UK/Rest of Europe?
As much as I like any kind of music, it's fair to say I have a bias towards british music and/or bands that have made it big in the UK (as you'd expect music fans from the USA to have a USA bias - nothing wrong with that.). I think I'm probably not alone, so could I suggest a British/Rest of Europe setlist section? I think this would also make sense if you're looking to create regionalised DLC. As an example, I can't imagine many stateside RB fans being interested in:
The smiths
The stone roses
Primal scream
Blur
Oasis
etc, etc.
As much as I like US rock music, I'd like to see more British music included, even as DLC. Seeing as HMX are keen to develop regionalised DLC, it makes sense to create an area to help with song suggestions.
What do you think?

I think region specific soundtracks are stupid. :)

I don't see why an American audience wouldn't be interested in the Britpop bands you listed. Alot of them had followings here in the States during the 90's.

Very true. I hate the idea of region specific soundtrack. Almost as much as censorship. Especially if their english speaking anyway.

Most of my favorite bands are from the U.K.

To be fair, I never said regionalised content was a good idea. My point is if HMX plan to go down that route, it would be good for countries/regions to be able to suggest content that might not otherwise make it to RB.
Just a thought.

Seriously, if any awesome foreign bands go up ONLY for their country of origin, I'm going to be wicked pissed. Especially British bands. If I can't play Muse, Blur, Oasis, Arctic Monkeys because I'm in the US... that won't sit very well.

I wonder how many US fans would be annoyed if they said Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Rolling Stones, etc are all going to be regionalised DLC? :D
I think that they should make regionalised DLC available to all countries after say, a month. So, that way, its still regionalised, but only for a limited time.

No, that would be daft. I didn't mean mainstream or established bands. I meant new bands, cult bands, bands never likely to make it outside of the UK, etc.

lol, but the bands you mentioned are all established bands and are certainly not new. Oasis is not mainstream? Wow, have you even listened to the radio in the UK?
If youre going to suggest some underground/unsigned bands, go ahead, but Oasis, Blur and the rest are very established and are certainly mainstream.

Agreed. I contradicted myself based on the original band suggestions. However, I still maintain a UK section would be a good idea. Maybe for established acts and otherwise.

The more DLC the better!
