I managed to find a expert female guitarist whom, after a few wicked close battles, I figured was worthy.
After the few badass duels, I went to GGAHT. I think it's great that you can't fail (on score and duel) because you get to play the entire song over and over, all the way to the end (good practice and challenge).
So, she chooses hard and I oblige. Smart cookie, I say. Playing on expert feels like a waste of time if you're only getting 60% - 70%.
So, we start playing and, I must say, after playing on expert for three months, the notes are crawling at me.
She's doing very well. I'm doing better than expected. It's totally neck and neck.
The first solo comes and we both hit our notes. The sound is amazing. Feels amazing to be playing the notes.
We're still neck and neck. I'm flying high, letting out yelps of joy periodically because it feels awesome to be laying it down so perfectly.
The second solo comes and, you can imagine how good it feels because we've been dueling so closely matched, for such a long period of time, and then...
WTF!?!?!
I know I hit those notes and nothing happened. The next set comes and...
WTF!?!?!
Same thing.
I strum and click away and nothing is happening. I look up at the screen and find that my orange button is lit up and I'm not touching the guitar.
NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
My batteries were dead. I couldn't even pause the game. I couldn't quit. I just had to sit there and watch the notes pass by and by and by. Batteries #'d 4, 5 and 6 have officially bit the dust.
I pray to the rock gods that the girl saw my frozen button and realized what had happened.
I share this with all of you who have gone through multiple sets of batteries (whether at opportune times, or not).
