i can play all the songs on expert and 5 star most (a gauge of how much i play) and i strum down for all the parts that i can. however i cant play anymore because now when i strum down a lot of times it strums twice instead of once and breaks my streak and is incredably frustrating. my point is did anyone else experience this problem or other strum bar breaking problems or did i just get unlucky? i ask this because now i will constantly fear playing just down on my new gh 3 and rock band guitar and hope that i was just a freak case

Few people have this problem, I haven't had a problem with my GH guitar though and i've had it since day 1. I just painted my other one too and nothing is wrong with it either... Maybe you guys shouldn't mash so hard? :p

I was under the impression that those things couldn't break.

I threw mine out of a window after trying to 5 star Jordan and it works better than ever

The Gibson SG's are fine. It's the damn POS x-plorer's that you should worry about. Strum bar breaks so easy on them.

True story. The manufacturer totally cheaped out on the strummer switches. Designed to fail.

The controller I was talking about is the X-Plorer... Maybe I just got lucky I don't know, both mine are fine though.

the one I got with the game broke in like a day (it was defective) but I've had my second one since then.

My SG just started doing that the last month or so. Exact same situation you're describing.

Made the decision of whether or not to sell my PS2 after buying a PS3 that much easier. I'd have only kept it around for GH anyway!

My SG is beautiful, I love it.

But my Xplorer is somewhat having the problem of downstrumming. It's registering twice if I use the technique of resting my thumb and pushing down.

In order to avoid error, I have to slap my thumb like slap bass style and do it quick so it doesn't register twice. It sux, but I'm not buying a Gibson, nor am I buying any other peripheral other than the Rock Band bundle.

I'll stick it out to beat GH3, I'm only renting it anyway, then I'll just move on. The Xplorer will become my bass guitar for RB which works out perfectly, because upstrumming works fine, or slap style for the bassist!
