View Full Version : what actually will come in the ps3 box?

I was reading the got rock band then oh no!, and it got me thinking, are there any other peices I will need to start playing? usb hub, batteries, cable, anything? I have the game pre ordered but I would like to be able to play out of the box like everyone else.

I'm sure it'll come with batteries for the guitar... but it couldn't hurt to get some more. The other instruments are wired so there's no problem there.

If you have one of the new 40GB model PS3's u may need a USB hub coz it only has 2 USB inputs.

The PS3 bundle will come with everything you need to play right out of the box. If your system lacks the four usb ports, then you will need the hub. I doubt the hub will be included in the PS3 bundle since I've only seen the 360 bundle mentioned with the hub. Batteries are no big deal. When you pick up your RB bundle, pick up some batteries as well. I use the E Lithium (http://www.energizer.com/products/lithium/default.aspx) batteries because they have twice the life. I use those in all my devices. They are a little more but you get what you pay for.

I got a set of rechargeables for the Wii (and my camera) which has worked out pretty well and I imagine that's the best solution for the wireless guitars as well.

u would only need 2 USB ports...

if you didnt play w/ a bassist or singer


or to play bass u used a wireless guitar...if you buy another RB guitar or just use any wireless Guitar Hero 2 guitar.

I have kind of a silly question.I dont recall anyone ever mentioning this and I have done a search,but in the bundle are there drum sticks included?

Yes. Of note, they are "real" drum sticks. (5A tip)

Why should you need USB for PS3 at all? I thought all the instruments are wireless? :confused:

No, all drums and microphones for all systems are wired. Just the guitar initially for the PS3 is wireless.

Importantly, they are wireless with a dongle. As such, a USB port is required for every instrument.

The PS2 version will have to use a USB hub as well since the PS2 only has 2 USB ports on it.
