First of all RESPECT.

I don't want to start another stupid musical battle...
But i think the game needs more styles, more punk, more metal... it would be great.
If the game is not released with this kind of music it should be downloadable...

More punk like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy... i'm sure you know what i mean.

More metal like Korn, Slipknot or whatever... all of them have received awards...

I don't give a damn if you don't like it but is impossible that everybody like the same music...

Just think about it. More fun! Have you ever seen play Slipknot's drummer Joey Jordison??? Try to keep the beat!!! It would be amazing!!!
And i'm sure a lot of people want to be doing metal vocals... Your friends yelling like a...:D

I think we have an opportunity, we should think on "exploit" the guitar and drums... and i think drums need more attention...
It could be a great game with a lot of possibilities.
Just think about it.

I do not like your ideas of punk and/or metal. Besides, Rock Band already has some punk in the form of The Clash and The Ramones.

I agree that Rock Band is lacking some metal, but Slipknot? Get out. There's already some heavy metal in the form of Kiss and Deep Purple, and that works for the short-term. There will probably be tons of metal as DLC.

I numbered those to help me reply to them.

1. MCR and Fall Out Boy are NOT punk

2. Korn and Slipknot are NOT metal

3. Joey is an average at best drummer, and Korn and Slipknot don't have "metal vocals".

I would LOVE for Rock Band to have more metal (actual metal, not crappy hard rock like Korn and SLipknot) such as:

Bathory
Ayreon
Grave Digger
Enslaved
Therion
Pain of Salvation (THEY have a great drummer, WAY better than Joey Jordison)
Death
Manilla Road

Unfortunately, all the bands I would want are underground bands (in America) so they won't be in the game, or available for download (more than likely).

Judging by the last song list for Rock Band I saw, there is only one metal song in Rock Band, that being Paranoid from Black Sabbath.

your band picks sound like death/black metal to me, which isn't real metal. real metal died a long time ago when metallica shaved their heads. I personally love slipknot, one of my favs but they wouldn't work in RB. The drummer Joey Jordinson is one of the best drummers ever, he has received crazy recognition for it, you're crazy to say his average at best. But because hes so fast (rated fastest drummer :D ) it would be near impossible to play, not to mention they technically have 3 drummers. No double bass in RB = no double bass drummers makes me a sad panda :( .

But @ Vermilion, welcome to the forums and don't post your music preferences or what you want to see explicitly, you'll just be B*****D and called a musically inferior person in here. NO TOLERANCE POLICY.

Man, i know MCR are not punk, i know Korn and Slipknot are not metal... i hate to classify music because nowdays i think it's impossible. And this is not the main thing...

You talk about black metal. Do you think they are gonna add it? I'm not sure. I would like some Lacuna Coil songs by the way.

But i just mentioned Slipknot as an example of different vocals and to emphasize about drums. I think it needs more attention.

We've Singstar to sing, we've Guitar Hero to play the guitar...
No we've Rock Band to mix it up togehter. My dream come true...
But let's add some hard songs to the singers, some hard songs to the guitarists and finally some hard songs to the drummers.

Thanks Reaper0563. And a musically inferior person? That's real funny! :D

And tucsonovernite: **** Levon Helm. ;)

That's all.

first off, those bands suck. and secondly, joey jordison is a decent drummer, im not going to rip on his skills because hes overrated. i think hes a good drummer, but nowhere near greatness. and fastest drummer? you're kidding, right?

and why did metal die with metallica? just because they're classic, doesn't mean only slayer, metallica, black sabbath, etc is metal. if youre such a ****ing nazi with your classification there's still metal today that holds true to the old roots(BLS anyone?)

true enough, i think the best metal died with metallica, all the really good stuff was in the 80's (metallica, megadeth, judas priest, iron maiden). obviously metal is still being made, just differenct. Kudos to zakk wylde for keeping it oldschool, and at least Ozzy is trying i didn't listen to black rain but friends told me it was pretty good. Iron Maiden's newer stuff isn't that bad either, I liked Brave New World.

OH BTW, "****ing nazi" is not necessary, grow up a little

just because your close minded and subjective idea of "the best metal" is old doesn't mean anything else new isn't metal. thats my point.

uh, did you not read that one of my favorite bands is slipknot? Nothing close minded, but if you're going to bash music then don't call me close minded seems hypocritical to me

and i have reasoning for bashing them. i actually take the time to listen to them before i say anything about them. you cant judge all modern metal just by a few bands you've heard.

Especially if those bands aren't metal. There are TONS of great metal bands (for the guy who claims that metal died with Metallica [yeah, uhh, no]) that formed in the late 80s/90s/00s such as:

Blind Guardian
Therion
Morgana Lefay
Symphony X
Ayreon
Pain of Salvation
Elvenking
Volbeat
Iron Savior
Wintersun
Dreamscape

and many, many, many more

nope.

100% classic rock n friggan roll

that would have made the best game.

they invented rock...they mastered it...then people ruined it.

YOu just proved to me how much you know about metal, next to nothing.
Sorry, but only a couple of those bands are black/death, please look them up before ignorantly saying something about them. Also, sorry, but Black and Death Metal ARE "real" metal.

Bathory (Black for first three albums, viking for next three albums, thrash for next two, viking for next one, viking/thrash for next one, viking for the last two)
Ayreon (Progressive Metal)
Grave Digger (Heavy Metal)
Enslaved (Viking/Black Metal)
Therion (Symphonic Power metal/death metal (old)
Pain of Salvation (Progressive Metal)
Death (Death metal)
Manilla Road (HEavy Metal)

2. The drummer Joey Jordinson is one of the best drummers ever, he has received crazy recognition for it, you're crazy to say his average at best.

Joey is no where near the best drummer ever, and I'm not crazy for pointing out that he's average at best, it's the truth

3. But because hes so fast (rated fastest drummer :D ) it would be near impossible to play, not to mention they technically have 3 drummers. No double bass in RB = no double bass drummers makes me a sad panda :( .

There are many, many, MANY faster drummers in the world than joey, and Slipknot has one drummer, and two "percussionists" who bang on stuff
