There is an excerpt from the Latest EGM I just got yesterday where a Harmonix Rep states " We are currently in talks with Zeppelin's management." which means they are trying and are not giving up. It goes on the say that GH is as well. this is good news I think since they just got involved with ITunes and Verison for ringtones so it means they are starting to break a little bit and enter the world of digital distribution. and DLC for rock band and GH is indeed digital distribution, So im holding out hope that they will be secured by rock band if they havent been already.

hmm if it's a current issue and it's true then i would say that Zep aren't going to be on the disc, here's hoping the talks were a success and Zep are available for DLC.

Seems that Zep is most likely to make it in a band-specific DLC pack like they're doing with the Grateful Dead's 18 assorted songs. That way they can get around some legal issues and also make it a handy pack to be sold at retail to the PS2 crowd.

So I'd agree that we're pretty unlikely to see Zep in the retail release (I'll still give a 15% chance of one song making it in), that at least is more promising that we may see them eventually.

Magazine lead times are pretty long though, so there's still hope.

True but most current issues are a month at most for the lead time.. i guess it depends when HMX made the setlist final i wouldn't have thought it was only a month ago.. but i could be wrong Zep may still be there. i guess we will know on Friday.

Dude, I would cry if ANY Zep got put onto the final disc! Even if it's not and then later released for DLC... Damn! I think I speak for pretty much everyone though... That would be freaking awesome!

look at metallica, they were being little whiny b****** about putting their stuff onto itunes, but now they are in both RB and GH. I think that its only a matter of time. :D :D :D

If Zep was a lock for the retail disc, we'd know by now. That's the kind of thing that Harmonix would want to trumpet to steal thunder from Activision -- and vice versa, frankly.

However, given Zep's officially coming to iTunes and other digital online formats, it wouldn't be surprising to have some tracks appear as DLC for both RB and GH3. It's the same concept, at the core.

Selling their music on iTunes is one thing, but when they start doing ringtones as well - I'd say that's them completely breaking. In fact, I don't know about anybody else - but I was actually kind of sad to see ringtones included, for a band that was supposedly holding out for "the integrity of their music", ringtones just seem like the ultimate cheesy cash-in.

Still, if that leads to them getting involved with games like RockBand - then I won't complain.

I really doubt that we'll see any Zep other then DLC.It's better that way anyways because we'll most likely get more songs on DLC then if it was on disc.

I don't think one has to do with the other. With a band as big as Led Zeppelin, putting one of their songs on the disc isn't going to result in only releasing 10 LedZep DLC songs, instead of 25.

If anything, being on the disc is a good thing, because it lets you know some deal was made, and leaves the door open for future deals (if they haven't already been made).

Any band with a song currently on the disc (Rolling Stones, The Who, Boston, etc.), I personally think, has a much greater chance at having DLC than any band without an announced song on the disc (Beatles, Zeppelin, Eagles, etc).

I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up for Zep on the disc, unless one of those 5 last minute songs was a Zeppelin song. I'm glad to hear they are still pursuing them (as if they wouldn't be) I think we should expect some Zep DLC, it seems more than possible.

I think 2 days before their release is a great time to steal their thunder :D

I'm still skeptical they will be on the disc, but if they were tomorrow would be the best time to make all the GH-junkies think twice about Rock Band.

I give it 6 months to a year. It seems like they're playing stubborn so far. IF we got it before 6 months I doubt we'll get masters.

You mean like a Rock Band expansion called "Rock Band - The Ultimate Zeppelin Edition" featuring everything Led Zeppelin? :p
