So I am getting the unreadable disk error. How do you fix this on the Xbox 360? The disk itself looks good... It's the only game giving me the error.
Is this somehow covered under warranty? Will getting a new diskl fix the problem when this disk already appears to be in good shape? And will Harmonix/EA send out a replacement disk?

If there some kind of disk repair device that will fix it?

There is no chance I'm buying another one- so is there anything I can do to to resolve this?

My advice: This has happened to me a lot, then I realized I would get the error after playing DLC only. So I tried to figure out the DLC that I had gotten right before I started getting the error, deleted it, and re-downloaded. It was fixed. Since the first time, if I see the error more than once after I've DL'ed something, I delete that song or pack and just get it again. It has worked for me every time.

I get the same error but it's only on my Rock Band discs, I've actually bought it twice because my first disc cracked from the inner circle (from those case spindles) now I'm really extra careful with the disc but I still get the "unreadable disc" error on occasion. I don't have any explanation for it; as it happens on random. I DID buy the $5 1 year warranty on my 2nd disc so whenever it happens I just go exchange it for another at EB.
I do notice a weird sort of discoloration on the discs underside, almost as if something was damaged by the machine. But the Rock Band is the only disc that gets it (or has these problems) and since I play Call Of Duty 4 as equal amount it can't be because of overheating or anything...I don't know it's really a weird occurrence.

Happened to me once, 2 months later my Xbox's disc reader stopped working completely. I'd say get it checked out, you can never be too careful!

I read somewhere about HD-DVD players having problems reading certain discs. Someone came up with an idea involving boiling the disc, or pouring hot water over the read surface and it fixed the problem. Don't ask me how or why, and don't try it just because I have mentioned it. I'm sure things could go horribly wrong. In fact, just pretend I never said anything. :D

My laser stopped working. It was not reading any discs. I opened the 360, opened the DVD casing and left it open (it looks cool now . . . seeing all the innards). Problem solved.

In some cases (like mine) it was an issue of the DVD being lifted too far because the glue that holds the magnets in the spindle melted due to heat.
