Dirt.
Superunknown.
Ten.
Nevermind.

The Big 4 of Grunge's best known albums.

Which is best?

(I'll do one for Thrash mabye, Master of Puppets or The Black Album vs. Rust In Peace vs. Reign in Blood vs. Among The Living.)

Dirt.
Whatever Anthrax's best known album is.)
Among the Living.
And for Slayer, it could be either Reign in Blood or Hell Awaits.

The depth of quality of songs on Superunknown is just astounding. My favorites are not even the biggies -- Fell on Black Days, My Wave. And the variety is greater than the others. Ten and Nevermind have awesome first sides but the second sides are serious drop offs in quality. I love the best tracks on dirt, but beyond those four I'm not into the rest of the album nearly as much.

For me I'd rank 'em

4. Dirt
3. Nevermind
2. Ten
1. Superunknown

I chose Nevermind. It was my first favourite rock album and I still like every song on the album.

Please do Master of Puppets for Metallica.

At the time Superunknown was the one I was playing the most, so that was an easy vote for me.

Easy.

Dirt.

....and suggestions for that other thread you're thinking about posting up(The thrash thingy.)

Metallica-Master Of Puppets
Megadeth-Rust In Peace
Slayer-Reign In Blood(I personally dig Seasons In The Abyss more, but RIB is more known.)
Anthrax-Among The Living.

Ten for me, I love that album from start to finish, then Nevermind, then Superunknown (great band, great album, I just dont tend to listen to it much), then Dirt, cuz I just never could fully get into AiC

Nirvana may be my third favorite band, but I voted for Superunknown. Nevermind isn't nearly as good (IMO) as In Utero.

I voted for Superunknown because, like fogey said it has amazing songwriting. I also love Chris Cornell's voice and the emotion in it. Vedder's voice is pretty emotional too, but I just prefer Cornell's. The solos in Superunknown are pretty cool too.
