It just occurred to me that since Rock Band is rated T for Teen that explicit music may never be downloadable. PLEASE ALLOW IT!
In my personal opinion Nine Inch Nail's The Hand that Feeds is my number one anticipated song and I'm hoping for a full length album of With Teeth or any other album by them, but all their work carries Parental Advisory stickers (except Year Zero). I don't want censored versions either, it was almost acceptable in Guitar Hero for songs such as Laid to Rest since you focused mainly on guitar, but with Rock Band lyrics are just as important.
Please don't like explicit lyrics hamper DLC, provide plenty of user agreements and/or optionally Mature rated expansions to the core game but don't forget about it entirely!

I don't have the source on me but it was confirmed earlier that they will be working on separate ratings for songs so it will include explicit lyrics.

Alex Rigopolous has stated that DLC can be rated separately, and that he does not intend to use radio edits for DLC.

Sorry dude, don't think that's gonna happen. A T rating is a T rating and there's nothing HMX can do about it. :(
YES! Got my 100 posts and my senior member ID! Alright, I guess I'm done. See you guys around I'll never be back.
No jk. I could never leave here!
EDIT: Seriously though, sorry Zen and foolosophy, didn't see your posts. I guess if HMX confirmed it then that's that.

it would be nice if they had something you could download as well to uncensor the songs already on the disc as well like a patch off of marketplace if you so choose to

Yeah that's pretty much what I was going for in the Alphabet Soup thread.

Personally, I don't like profanity. If there's a clean version of a song available for download, that's the one I choose. I've always felt a song can make it's point without sinking to swears. If you really need the "shock" version, so be it. To each his own. I just hope they offer both versions for those who have children or entertain guests that would rather not hear that kind of language. :)

Not all profanity in songs is for shock value, having said that I think that either two versions of a song or an "on off" switch would make the songs universally accepted

I think the song should come out uncensored.
While I guess it's great that some artists make censored versions of their albums, it just seems to me like a cheap cash grab.
I dunno, it's 4 AM and I'm having trouble wording it the way I want to, so yeah. ;)

"ESRB rating and Experience may change during online play" is not an uncommon message. As a matter of fact I can't remember an online game with chat even that I have not seen that message accompany.

We've been over this: that doesn't apply to in-game content, only to other players. DLC will be rated individually based on content.
