If you go to the disussion for this weeks DLC and you clikc on the vid for Rush-Closer To The Heart. I dont really like rush, but once I heard that awseome acoustic beginning, I was in love with that song. In that paticular video, from 1:46-1:53, I could listen t that part for ever.

There's quite a few Rush songs I like. "Closer To The Heart" has to be one of my favorites because it's toned down quite a bit compared to some of their other songs. Same thing with "Life By The Drop" by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Groups or artists put out "upbeat" or "heavier" songs and you can still run across one that's more mellow and still a great song.

agreed,
Rush is definitely among my few other favorites: Led Zep and Boston

I spent my whole music listening life making fun of Rush. Then I played Limelight and Working Man on Rock Band and decided that I was an idiot for hating them. Its worth digging in to their material a little bit, they have an awful lot of good music.

Because of Rock Band and Guitar Hero 2 Rush has sold three concert tickets, two albums, a DVD and T-Shirt to me and my friend combined.
I since found out that I am in love with the band. :p

Yeah, Rush rules.
Just wait until we get "The Spirit of Radio". That is really gonna blow some uneducated minds.

"Closer To The Heart" comes off of the album A Farewell To Kings.
I hope that this is a sign that we will get songs like "A Farewell To Kings" & "Xanadu" in Rock Band. I would push for "Cygnus X-1", but unfortunately, it's an instrumental. :)

I would love to see Witch Hunt and The Trees on Rock Band, that would be awesome.

I think Trees is one of the best songs by Rush, not mainly because of the music by the story is just OUT there. Love it.

Like someone else said b/c of Rock Band, I normally only knew Tom Sawyer, but b/c of Rock Band, we went to the concert a couple of weeks ago in St. Louis. It was a blast!

I'd like the whole 2112 album. Not enough vocals for that to make it into RB I don't think but The Trees and A Passage to Bangkok would rock.

Not remotely a fan. Can't stand Geddy's singing, and while they're obviously talented musicians, the music they create doesn't move me in any particular direction. I can say the same about a number of other vaunted prog bands (Yes, King Crimson, etc.)
But I have a slew of friends who are crazy about them, so I'm happy to entertain their habit. I get the DLC, I've attended concerts with them in their hopes that the epiphany will occur. Hasn't happened yet.

I wished they could somehow get the Closer to the Heart song off of the 1998 Different Stages live album because it is a great quality song (Geddy's voice is still amazing). Not only would the song still be awesome, it would be longer (5:13 I believe) and come with an amazing Geddy Lee signature bass solo.

Two songs I've always said needed to be in a rhythm game.

RUSH is in my top 10 favorite bands. I saw them live, with Primus opening for them. In my opinion one of the best drummers and bass players in the world! There lyrics are well thought out as well.

Rush is in my top 5 for favorite bands. I cant wait to play this song and the different version of "Working Man." Geddy Lee and Neil Peart are 2 of the most talented artists out there.

I reaplly hope that the rumors about The Trees being on RB2 are true, that is by far their most meaningful song.

I really love Rush's unique sound. Their musicianship is unbelievable. Why they still aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is beyond me. Madonna got in for crying out loud!

The Rock Hall is more of a studio thing... lots of back-scratching going on there, and the occasional ill-advised choice. 2008 was mind-boggling, though.... wouldn't have put any of them in, save maybe the Dave Clark Five.
Considering neither Rush nor Ozzy are in the Rock Hall, however... raises some questions (although they did finally induct Black Sabbath in 2006, Ozzy's been on the ballot as a solo artist since 2000, never making it in).
