Battle of the Bands in Rock Band 2?

I have heard from multiple sources that GHWT will support a battle of the bands feature. It is even shown in the trailer.

I was wondering whether RB2 will feature the same thing or if we will only have the single band playing a song. I was hoping for the battle of the bands and was thinking whether it may be a downside to buying RB2 instead of GHWT. I know that I will at least buy the game itself but I'm not sure whether to buy the GHWT bundle or not. This may swing my opinion.

Id like to see battle of the bands in RB2, but, I dont think any songs would ever get fully completed. There are enough people dropping in and out of Band quick play, double that and you know people are gonna drop out nearly every song.

I would love to see a battle of the bands, yes too many people would be dropping out of online play with random people. however I'm sure there are plenty of people including myself who would be able to get reliable band mates I believe this would work quite well. maybe add some kind of reliability system or track how often "X" band finishes a song/set.

I would hope for battle of the local bands..... online would just be hax... but regardless, battle of the bands destroys ****ty song creator.

Considering most of the people that play the game will be musically talentless, I think the song creation side kinda sucks. Most of the content will suck, and tbh, why spend ages browsing other people's content when there's plenty of tracks made by real musicians ;)

Custom song creation is pretty lame, no full band play allowed. And so on, and I couldn't care any less -- Anything is a better idea then that!

Song creation would only be worth it if you could include vocals. With vocals, I'd rather have it than battle of the bands.
